Life for Ashira had not been easy. If she had endured nothing, she would have known life was simply lying. By being able to adjust to almost any and every situation that she entered, it helped her see that she was destined to experience a variety of opportunities. No matter the size, no matter the impact, she was meant to be there.

This encounter with Sinclair, for example, was one of those opportunities. As he moved close and softly spoke, he created a potential mood change that could have been avoided by Ashira simply leaning back. She felt it was not meant to be that way, however, and instead let fate pull her along as Sinclair’s interaction brought a slight change in the atmosphere around them.

‘Do you feel it?’ A second’s pause, then: ‘The desire?’ As he watched her thoughtfully, Ashira’s gaze didn’t wander or falter from his. When the interaction of mere breath and closeness occurred, a change happened in her as well. So, since Sinclair genuinely asked, she would truthfully answer.

“There was a stir,” she explained, silver eyes simply watching Sin’s facial expression. “Time has shown I haven’t felt a physical rush similar to that in awhile.” Her last suitor had been so long ago, it felt like she had crossed worlds and continents since that day. “Caresses have been lost to me for that extended time frame.” Destiny wasn’t toying with her, she knew; having Sinclair attempt to figure out what she wanted or needed was meant to be an opportunity.

The atmosphere was charged between them and he found himself looking at her in a new light. "There was a stir," she admitted and his gaze darkened. When she didn't move away, he moved even closer, invading her space and threatening to consume her. “Time has shown I haven’t felt a physical rush similar to that in awhile. Caresses have been lost to me for that extended time frame.” "When did you last feel desire, Ashira?" he asked curiously. Was it then, or now? He pressed his muzzle against her shoulder, then slowly trailed up her neck so that his breath was hot upon her skin. "Tell me what you desire," he growled softly.

He felt the electricity in the air as the mood shifted between them but he would not proceed without hearing it from her mouth that this was what she wanted. Lavender eyes would narrow slightly as he nipped the side of her neck. He remained close, ears twitching for any sign that he should stop. He knew he shouldn't be doing this, he was only trying to forget Lye, but the comfort of another's arms felt too tantalizing to give up.

Although Ashira could be the one to point out the obvious, she did not in this instance. Destiny had pulled her and Sinclair into the same space and time. She was not one to fight what was meant to happen and it was with that mindset that led to what came next. Sinclair’s presence came closer and she felt the change when he did. ‘When did you last feel desire, Ashira?’

The question could have been answered by a couple of past moments. Instead, Ashira’s answer was a simple one: “That’s irrelevant, Sinclair.” As he moved along, his nose outlined her shoulder and neck, creating a physical friction that felt warm and pleasant at the same time. His second request, ‘Tell me what you desire,’ was not hard to answer.

“Physical contact, Sinclair,” she stated. Her silver eyes dilated slightly as her heart rate involuntarily increased. “The kind that may end in satisfaction.” She was not the best at foreplay or innuendos, but it was something she didn’t intend to improve. Intercourse was not a primary necessity; Sinclair’s offer, however, inclined for her to accept fate and potentially enjoy what could come from their close future union.

There was no fanfare from her and he supposed he should have expected it given her personality. She told him her past lovers and desires were irrelevant and he couldn't agree more. What mattered was here and now. She didn't bother turning him away and as he asked her what she wanted, she told him plain and simple. He pulled back, his lips quirking in a small smile. "You're very direct," he noted. He didn't necessarily mind, but he did find it mildly amusing.

A few beats of silence before he moved beside her, drawing his nose along her spine and following his touch with nips, each harsher than the last till he reached the base of her spine. His fur began to bristle along his shoulder blades and he felt a familiar heat low in his stomach. His own desire had begun to churn and with her acceptance, he would not keep her waiting long before he wrapped his arms around her and dragged her down with him.

In the aftermath, he lay beside her, sated for now despite how much gentler he'd been with her considering he did not yet know her preferences. There had been no bloodshed or violence, just two wolves coming together until they reach 'satisfaction' as Ashira had called it. He turned his head to look at her curiously. "I hope I didn't disappoint." he mused.

Sinclair’s reaction to her answer was genuine, causing a faint smile to appear on his face. ‘You are very direct,’ he observed, causing Ashira’s ears to perk forward slightly. She was not one to hide her directness; it would be a hinderance to her true self, as well as her opposing company. There was not a time when she could remember letting a lie slip. Perhaps that was a good thing.

Sinclair’s movements were gentle and harsh at the same time, his nips leaving sharp feelings where he had just bit along her frame. Each one gave her body a little thrill, causing her heart to increase in pumping and her skin to thrush with tingles. By the time Sinclair’s weight had shifted to her lower back, Ashira’s lower gut began to inwardly hum with growing desire.

Ashira’s adjective for herself would have been ‘satisfied’. She gave credit to fate that her physical and mental baselines were meant to be taken care of in ways that were normally not along life’s pathways. Sinclair settled down beside her and she lowered herself to the ground, all four legs given out. Their encounter had drained both of their energies and she physically felt relaxed when Sinclair spoke. ‘I hope I didn’t disappoint.’

His curious gaze caught hers, but her gaze showed her pupils returning to their normal size as she showed the faintest of smiles to his words. “No, Sinclair, you did not disappoint.” She leaned in slightly, salmon pink tongue reaching out to tenderly kiss his snout. “Apparently, I needed it more than I realized.” Her smile became less faint and it stayed for a few seconds. “Was I satisfying for you?”

They were quite the pair, he decided, both seemingly emotionally stunted and yet both craving contact with another. As much as he despised most other wolves, he had almost begun to hate being alone more. His ears flicked as he lay beside Ashira, feeling both relaxed and content for the time being. He turned his head in time to see her smile and hear her ask her question. "Yes," he responded simply. His own smile faded after a moment but not because he was upset. He just wasn't used to emoting anything other than anger or sadness for more than a few moments. However, he felt neither of those now. Instead he felt... calm.

A yawn escaped him and he rolled onto his side, facing Ashira. He gazed at her a moment longer in silence before his eyelids started drooping. "Will you be here when I wake up?" he asked through a yawn. He did not know what kind of life she would return to once outside this blissful bubble but a part of him hoped to see her before she left. With that, his eyes closed and he slowly started drifting off to sleep.

Ashira mostly found herself traveling, coming across others and then leaving just as quickly. She didn’t think that destiny wanted her to stay in one place for long. Why fight the path already chosen when there would be plenty to see and enjoy along the way? What she experienced shaped her and her knowledge of most things in her lifetime would be because she did not falter.

Time seemed to slow down for Ashira and Sinclair, both wolves of barely expressing emotion showing more than normal in that moment. His answer to her question was a simple ‘Yes,’ but it held more in it than normal wolves would naturally notice. The aura that seemed to gleam from Sinclair’s pores settled along Ashira’s and both seemed to be ready for rest.

‘Will you be here when I wake up?’ He asked, facing her as he rolled onto his side. His eyes were heavy as she mirrored him, bright eyes beginning to fuzz around the edges as sleep attempted to reach her. She was able to say, “Yes, for as long as it’s acceptable,” before she rested her head in front of Sinclair’s, her nose lightly bumping against his as her body fell into a gentle slumber.
