Then teach me. He wasn't so oblivious as to miss the double meaning in her words. She blushed at her lack of experience and he wondered what else she was keen on learning. Her lips curled in a smile meant to dazzle before her voice was sweetly calling him Colonel. Ears flicked briefly atop his head, quickly finding himself at a loss. How long had it been since he had a woman looking at him the way she was? He couldn't remember the last time he had said something even remotely flirtatious.

Thankfully she was sparing him from having to figure it out as she spoke. Though he wasn't wholly prepared for what she said either. It was years in the military that kept his brows from lifting the more she said. She laid it all out on the table, telling him in no unclear terms just how she felt about it. Suddenly he was forced to address his own emotions.

And if she hadn't stunned him enough, she was pressing a light kiss to his cheek. He cleared his throat, a nervous tick he hadn't experienced since his youth. "Illaria," He started, his tone unintentionally foreboding. "You should know, I'm married." Most definitely not the appropriate response "And it's a mess." A short, dry ha followed his words. "I'm not explaining this well." He grimaced. "I've been married my entire adult life. But I haven't had a relationship in just as long." It was his way of admitting he had no clue what he was doing.

"I'm not good at this." A frown tugged at his lips as he shook his head slowly. "I don't want to promise you anything." He wasn't trying to completely shut her down, he knew it sounded like a rejection on his tongue. But he enjoyed her company. Though he wasn't entirely sure what she was going to think of him being married in the first place.

I.E.S
Let’em Wonder..

The nerves in her body raged as he said her name. Her ears perked at it and she gave him her whole undivided attention. She didn’t even blink an eye when he confirmed that he was in fact married. Though he didn’t say her name. She offered him another warm smile. “Nalik… I know” she said firmly. She knew about merrin. And she didn’t care. That didn’t change how she felt about him. And when he mentioned it was a mess her mind flickered back to the conversation he’d been having with Ryker that she’d accidentally interrupted. “I accidentally overheard your conversation with Ryker. Before I came in.” She paused, taking a gentle breath. “Merrin” she breathed the truth she knew.

“I won’t lie to you Nalik, I know Merrin. I met her Once before, at the college.” Her voice wobbled softly as she swallowed her fears. “She never mentioned you, I had no clue of the connection between us all until I overheard that conversation. But it never changed how I felt about you. And it never will.” Her voice was firm, solid with determination. She hoped this news didn’t seal the nail in a coffin she was fighting against. One that would seal her fate in a life without him.

“I’m not asking for your hand in Marriage Nalik…I’m asking if you want to try being with me. If you’d be willing to let me love you like you deserve to be loved and see where it goes…” her voice was gentle and even. Finding her courage as she spoke. “I’m not good at this Either. In all my years, you’re the first man to catch my eye. The first man I’ve wanted to share a bed with, to build a life with. Even if you’re legally married to her, you're not actively involved in that marriage, right?” Her eyes held a hopeful glint. And she placed her paw on his, And she looked him in his eyes.

“Was she the one who hurt you?” Her voice shook, that hidden anger that she held over his injuries surfaced again. She felt her body tense at the thought that merrin could lay her hands on Nalik and sleep fine with herself. It rubbed her wrong.

When Merrins name spilled from her lips, to say he was surprised was an understatement. She already knew he was married, having heard his conversation with Ryker. It made her confession all the more meaningful, to know that she already knew and it hadn't changed anything she felt. But she knew Merrin, outside of her ties to him. They had met. It triggered a flicker of suspicion. But she would assure him that it was entirely coincidental.

With a few easy words, she would take the pressure off him, claiming she needed no marriage commitment from him, only his desire to be with her. If you’d be willing to let me love you like you deserve to be loved and see where it goes… The concept of being loved was foreign to him. He didn't think Merrin had ever loved him, and surely whatever he had felt for her in the beginning couldn't be love.

There was a hopeful glint in her eyes as she explained that she wasn't good at this either. Her words would inflate his ego, causing his lips to twitch in the beginnings of a arrogant grin he had worn in years, one that said he knew when a woman wanted. "Not in years." Merrin had stopped being his wife long before she ran from their bed.

Then her tone would change, darkening with a possessive anger that spoke to him on multiple levels. "Yes." was his simple reply. For the first time in their lives, she had picked up a sword against him and she had done so with an aggression he had expected from her. Though he no doubt deserved it.

Let’em Wonder..

When he confirmed what she’d suspected about his Marriage to Merrin, it made her hope flair up more. If they hadn’t been together in Years then she really didn’t feel bad at all that she’d started having feelings for him, or that she’d decided to pursue him in this way. If anything it just made her want him more. She wanted to show him what a good “wife” could be. Even if she could never legally be his wife. She could still do everything a wife should have done for him.

She leaned forward slowly, moving closer to him, and then she placed her paw on his chest. “Then I see Nothing stopping Us, Nothing stopping me from Giving Myself to you Entirely, and Nothing stopping me from giving you every good thing you Deserved in life” she met his gaze and she let him past her mask. Let him see every emotion and probably thought she’d been hiding. She gave him one look that no man had ever seen in her life; one of Desires.

But his next words, they had her eyes morphing into a fire again. Her breathing hitched as she fought to control herself. To tame the parts of her that now wanted justice, that wanted to rip into Merrin’s leg herself and leave her to grow infected. But she closed her eyes and took a deep Breath, slowly exhaling. “It’s not my Place to say this. But I’m saying it anyway. If I ever run across her again… She’ll wish she’d been Imprisoned for life. I won’t touch her, unless in self defense. But I won’t hold my tongue..” her words held a dark promise and she looked back at the man she had feelings for. “Forgive me for overstepping” she offered him a warmer smile. One that sang of all the things she’d love to show him in life. Of everything Merrin should have done for him as his wife.

She stared at him for a while as the fire inside her slowly calmed to a small flicker for later. She’d never get over the damage merrin had done to him. But for now, this wasn’t about her or her sins. This was about him, and herself. This moment was for them. Her hand still rested on his chest and she daringly moved closer, almost nose to nose with him. “Say yes to me Nalik, say yes and let me take care of you in every way that you need” she whispered softly. He hadn’t said yes or no yet, and she needed to know, need him to say it. To confirm it or deny it. So she held her breath as she waited.

Boldly, she would invade his personal space. She came closer, bringing with her sweet scent of berries and the heat that radiated off her body. Being out of the game for awhile didn't make him blind, he picked up on the innuendo in her voice, he saw the way her body bent towards him in subtle offering. Her eyes would soften with feminine desire and like windows to her soul, she'd let him in. So freely, she'd let him watch the thoughts pass her features, see the emotions that she had kept bottled up.

But she didn't know. She didn't know the sudden urge he felt, to jerk her against him, to pin her against the plushness of his bed so that he could press his teeth into her skin until she whined. It had been something he never understood and it was something Merrin had buckled beneath. His expression would darken with his own twisted desire, suddenly making him look every bit the predator that he was.

She would surprise him. Her own temper flared, as if to meet his, whether she knew it or not. Poison dripped from her lips as she spoke of her next encounter with Merrin, should the two ever meet again. His head would tip slightly as he regarded her in a new light. "There's nothing to forgive."

Suddenly, she was even closer.lingering only a hairs distance away. She was pleading, begging, her warm breath fanning his cheeks. She wanted answers and there was only one word she was after. Without warning, he'd press his teeth into the soft fur on her neck while a foreleg wrapped around her, using both points on contact to pull against his chest. The action would jostle his leg, causing him to stiffen slightly, reminding him that he was not in any condition to do anything. His jaws would flex in annoyance, rolling her skin between his teeth in a touch that might have been too hard, too fast. But it wouldn't stop him from growling a single word into her fur. "Yes."

She didn’t miss the change In his eyes, the dangerous predator that had laid dormant inside him. But before she could look the beat in the eyes, he spoke. He didn't fault her for overstepping her place it seemed when he said there was nothing to forgive in her words. It made her feel secure, knowing that she hadn’t upset him in any way. She felt the warmth of complacency swell with her chest.

She let out a gentle gasp when he moved, she had seen it coming. But when his teeth found a place in her neck and his foreleg pulled her to his chest. She felt as if he sent electricity through her, each touch had her head reeling in excitement. She didn’t fight him, she embraced this closeness, drinking in his scent. She felt him stiffen and immediately her gaze flickered to his leg and then his face. ”Careful Colonel” her voice full of care and heavy husk. She wanted him, then and there, forever. But not at the expense of his health. He could take her when he was healed. She’d waited this long, she could wait longer.

She let out a soft whimper as her skin shifted between his teeth, but she didn’t pull away. And then he gave her a single word that made her feel as if she was the luckiest girl In the world. He said yes, he wanted her too. She grinned, burying her face into his neck again she let it sink in. She was his now, he would let her love him as he deserved. ”I’m glad that was your answer” she said, before she returned the bite he had on her, sinking her own teeth into his neck, not enough to harm him. But enough for a bit of a sting. Bite for bite, she sat in his embrace, the world melted away and all that mattered to her was this moment.

She was putty in his hands. Her gasp was soft, a gentle sound against his ears. She didn't resist, she didn't squirm uncomfortably, she didn't stiffen in terror. It all breathed dark thoughts to life. Contrary to what most might think, his bed had been mostly empty over the years. Only a handful of times had he stepped outside of his marriage to indulge himself in another woman, at least thats how it was after Merrin left. But each time he seemed all to capable of inflicting pain. He couldn't help but wonder if the same would happen now.

Careful Colonel.

Dragging him from his thoughts, he would relax against her, a dark smile hanging off his lips. But she was making it difficult. She didn't pull away from him when his teeth pinched her skin, she didn't try to wriggle out of his grasp. She would whimper though, the sound making him forget about his injury again as he warred with the overwhelming need to bed her. Eventually he would release her, knowing his leg would cause him trouble.

He would catch her smile before she buried her face in the thick fur of his neck. Her reaction would coax a laugh from him, the sound deeper than his voice. She would voice her delight with his answer, but before he had a chance to answer her, she was pressing her teeth into his skin. He felt the sharp prick of pain when she pinched his skin without drawing blood. A growl would crawl its way up his throat from deep in his chest. The sound was different from the aggression he so often exhibited, it was laced with desire, approval too.

"Enough, before you get us into trouble." Reluctantly, he would pull away from her, begrudgingly accepting that he needed to heal first.

Let’em Wonder..

Her temperature was rising in a way she’d never experienced before. It had her melting in his embrace. If this was what being with him was going to be like, this tension. She could absolutely live with it, it was the greatest feeling she’d ever experienced. And Merrin was a fool to leave it behind. She wouldn’t make that mistake. She intended for Nalik to be her First, Her Last, Her only. She had quite literally never been with any man or woman before this moment. Not from the lack of others' attempts. But she had just been uninterested in them all. But Nalik, he was different. He had enthralled her.

Her heart raced with a need she didn’t know how to handle. She craved him, in every sense of the word. She wasn’t as naive as a young woman, she knew of sex. She knew of arousal. She knew that’s what he was doing to her, but this was her first encounter of it. And it was nearly as intoxicating as he was to her. He could quite literally make her feel like this any time and she’d thank him. Even if he left her needy. Just… being in this way with him was enough for her … for now. She glanced at his leg at that thought.

She froze momentarily at his laugh. It was beautiful, how had she never realized that before. ”You should laugh more Nalik, is the most beautiful sound” she insisted from against his neck. And then she was hearing yet another new sound from him, one of approval. One that had her singing with pride. How could he possibly be any more addictive than he was already. What she would give to hear that over and over again.

Reluctantly she pulled away from him at his words. She knew he was still healing. And it would be selfish of her to attempt anything past what was already shared between them at the moment. But she couldn’t help wanting to give him more. ”I think I’d quite enjoy getting us into some trouble then Colonel” she laughed before putting some space between them.
