I am relentless. Luciel!
The world seemed to stop moving in that moment. He ignored her thrashing, the way her panic saturated the air around them. She pushed against him, trying to free herself, but she was met with resistance, a stone wall that refused to move. He froze, standing over her like a statue. His body stiffened, as if she had physically struck him. Emerald eyes were trained on her, but somehow not quite seeing her as he struggled to process what just happened.
Luciel!
Her struggle was nothing new. It was easy to ignore. But the name that fell from her lips, that was new. The only name that had ever passed her lips had been his own. She cried out this name with familiarity that suggested she thought this Luciel would save her. It sparked a jealousy in him that he did not know was possible. It spread across his skin like fire, burning him with its potency. It destroyed the frayed strands of his control. It sent him into a frenzy.
Luciel!
Lips peeled back to bare his teeth in a silent snarl. The growl that formed in his throat was a deep, feral sound.

I am relentless. She ripped the air from his lungs with only three little words. His mind froze as he struggled to comprehend what she had just said. He's my husband! He stared at her, the silence stretching on as if he was waiting for the rest of her joke. But no such words would come. His imposing frame vibrated, his anger so wildly out of control his body couldn't quite catch up. Her husband...
His laughter came suddenly as he shoved away from her. He paced the width of the alley, still keeping himself between her and freedom. template by bean |

do not press this,
I am relentless. She remained where she was, laying in the dirt, looking up at him. I'm not your love. He smirked. She continued to shoot down his pet name, though it did little to stop him from calling such. He would approach her, coming to kneel beside her. Her defiance quivered, she clung to her backbone as she tried to get out of answering him. His gaze was contemplative as he looked down at her, studying her face. He'd reach out, stroking the side of her face gently in a single, sweeping motion. A low hum formed in the back of his throat, as if he were considering something.
Without warning, he'd grip her throat. He'd squeeze, flexing his grip around the delicate column. The only difference this time was he took care not to bruise her. He was older now, wiser, a war hero. He wouldn't leave evidence of his wives transgressions on her skin. All the while, his expression never changed. Not yet at least.

I am relentless. She struggled in his grasp, tears filling her eyes before falling to wet her cheeks. He paid it no mind. He fueled his own temper with each question that passed his lips. Her ragged breathing grated against his nerves, serving to infuriate him more. Her whine, a plea for mercy, was ignored. A fire erupted in his gaze, accompanied by his lips lifting to bare his teeth in a cruel snarl.
His own gaze would narrow in response to her own eyes popping open with a new found clarity. Caught off guard, she'd slip from his grasp, falling to the ground with a loud thud. His snarl was caught off by a grunt as her kick met its mark. Pain made his stomach lurch as his body curled in on itself in response.
While he was preoccupied, she would take full advantage and tore down the alley. All he could do was following her with his eyes. A dark chuckle rolled off his tongue as he shook himself. She may have escaped him, but he wasn't letting her go. He knew where she was now.
