While Hydra enjoyed being within the gates of Avignon and touring the more populated places when she wasn't meeting with her clients, she rarely was able to tour the Toulon Palace itself.

Yet, today was her night off.

No clients would be meeting with her, not unless they sought her out directly by tracing her scent through the streets.

She slipped into the gardens to admire the stonework, gazing at the greenery in the dim light of early evening. Her cousin would be nearby, she knew, working with the other Praetorian Guards, as would friends she had made through her childhood and adolescence.

Yet she had never felt the draw to join the Guard.

She respected them, certainly, but if she were to choose any careers... being part of the Swordsman's Guild was fairly low on the list. Still, she passed them with soft nods, answering any questions that were posed before she was allowed admission.

She made her way towards a stone bench and climbed onto it, deciding to recline upon it for a time before she entered the actual Palace to inspect the artifacts.

His days were spent exploring the Toulon Palace, familiarizing himself with every hallway, room and wolf. Most of the Guard's faces were memorized thanks to his superior memory, and he greeted them as he passed by name - simply because it benefited him, as there would be times where he would rely on his Guard to protect his life when the inevitable war came to rain destruction on them all... that was worst case scenario, however. While the schematics of how he would return Ildhrune to it's glory were still hazy in his minds eye, he still had full intention to eradicate his home of the Rionnach scum, but he knew that no movements could be made just yet - however, he had but a year to correct the wrongs that had happened to him and his people, and he obsessed over just how he was going to do that ever since the Father chose him as Polaris.

Lost in thought, Kaladin walked quietly, finding himself within the Gardens of his estate. His nose twitched at the scents of all the flowers, luring him in as if he were a bee himself, drawn to the succulent ticklings of pollen. The plethora of colours was beautiful, each complimenting the next and bringing a beauty to what is otherwise, in his opinion, a trying time.

He was then made aware of another, her form sitting upon the stone bench. Upon inspection, she was just as pretty as the flowers in the garden beds, but in a more somber, devastating way with her black coat split by gold. Intrigued, he approached, his friendly mask affixed upon his face as usual to mask the real thoughts underneath.

"Good evening, miss," he began, angling his body to still observe the flowers yet close enough for her to hear him clearly. Shifting a little bit, he casually took residence on the other side of the bench, his tail wrapping at his heels. "It's a lovely night - not a cloud in the sky," he mused, pausing as if he were deep in thought, though he left the conversation open should she desire to entertain him. He wasn't familiar with every face within the Palace quite yet, he couldn't say he'd ever seen her before... surely he would have remembered such striking markings.
