Oh, how glorious it was to know that Winter was returning. Of course, it would be a while before the whispering winds, biting frost and bitter snows hit the mainland-but Leviathan could not be more ready. He had had his fill of sweltering, hot Summer days and brisk Autumnal mornings. No, now he craved the bitter sting of ice upon his paw-pads. The howling winds within his ears and of course, the chilling waters. But as the evening sun faded and made way for such a chilling 'eve, The Pirate Captain of course found himself in very familiar territory. His good 'ol hidey cave. Away from the crashing waves and salty sea-air. His favourite dark, dank Tavern, The Drunken Seagull. "When you're ready, mate?" His smooth croon happily chirped from smooth, inky lips. Oh how the fellow scoundrels cheered and hollered (in hate) at his arrival, standing there in all of his glory with a pelt of pristine ebon' and icy maw, with an icy brow quirked and icy eyes a'glow. Never more a handsome fellow to Captain such a motley crew. But no Crew. Not even any of the sort. A huff flared from his dark nostrils as he happily sauntered over to the make-shift bar. His eyes set upon the vast cases, brimming full of mulled berries. His favourite beverage lingered in the air, seemingly clanging to the dank, mossy walls that crawled above. Oh, how nice it was to be home. "honour the gods that walk among us" @Maui |

Reckless waves crash upon Sussex's blackened sand; shells of all kind wash up in some waves, but for the most part, the ground is covered in soot-colors. Maui's footsteps in the sand, dragging along a few stolen pelts from the downtown square. An easy net when wolves' are hurrying to clean up their things, even if they were old and dirty, Maui could make them as good as new. Little sun and salt-water could get stains out. Two drape across her shoulders like a cape, keeping her warm against autumn's harsh breeze. Winter would be along soon, the winds would most likely be unbearable, from what she knew of the sea. Winters were brutal where she was form, even with the warmth of the Volcano isle she'd grown up near. Heat drifted across their little bay, usually shrouded in fog. She sneezes, loud; the sand had gotten in her nose. She shuffled towards the Tavern, shoulders straightened. She was a massive figure among other women. Built like a war ship, her muscles are toned and tempt for a brawl when she's so blunt. If a man says he could beat her, she's going to put him in his place. She'd grown up around almost all men, a rarity where she was from, the Gods' had gifted her father with a daughter. Maui had been one of the only ones besides her cousin. She was as sharp as a dagger and as wistful as an owl. Her Captain hadn't raised a bad recruit. Pushing the thoughts of her father away, she came through the Tavern's doors, rolling through them with no care. She'd been here enough, she knew almost everyone with barely a glance, the regulars who sat at the same broken down rocks and waited for the barkeep to get to them. Maui kept her eyes straight, heading to the bar, pelts still swept over her. She wouldn't consider herself pretty by any means. Rugged, coarse, brittle. Words she'd used to describe herself. Washed in grays and blues, smashing together like waves themselves. Below her chin, hangs a small goatee, it proves she's for sure her father's daughter. A trait that had carried to her, making her a bearded lady. Not that she minded so much; she'd never cared much for beauty - only in her women. She slid into a seat, calling for an order that was usually her regular, four conch shells of what they served here; booze. It wasn't much unlike what they had at home, fermented berries. There's only so many ways to do it. She had noticed the ruckus near the doors; but had come in from the side, it's not like that was anything unusual. They all screwed each other and expected nothing more than trust? She scoffs, before bringing her lips to one of the shells, slipping and side-eyeing the man who'd made it to the bar. She leaned upward, looking forward once more, |
Ah, the bitter sting of fermented berries upon his tongue was a sweet one. Slurped from a battered conch shell, taken by perhaps thousands of tongues before him and soon after. It was a relief upon his weary paws to sit and simply cackle at the heckles thrown his way. Pirate. It was an honourable profession within the Guild! One that had laws... of sorts. Bonds. Unity! Not wasting away addicted to narcotics, or selling one's body for pleasure and wealth. , "Aren't you popular?" A grizzly voice was thrown his way, ebon ears flickered with a non-challant shrug. As if it were a fly buzzing around him. "Haven't seen 'em go wild like that in awhile. And yet they persisted to glean some form of response. And so that signature smirk played upon his lips-casting his gaze in silence over the speaker. Female? Oddly wiry fur, draped in monochrome with eyes as black as the sands that lay upon their famed beach. An icy brow quirked as he noted the beard that was now stained a soft crimson from the berries. "Aye, they believe me royalty." A sarcastic response, of course. "But these dogs believe piracy is worse than the..." A flare of a snort rolled from his dark nostrils like dragon's fire. "Ladies of the night." And with that, he bitterly took another gulp of the precious liquid. "What brings such a..."He paused, allowing his eyes to sweep her gangling frame once more. "Strapping lass such as yourself here?" Would she deign to humour him? "honour the gods that walk among us" @Maui |

The Tavern was like home for the young pirate. She knew the corners and crooks of the hallways. Not all of them, that was she was for sure - secret nooks and crannies that were hidden in the dim light. Though, she'd known it the best she could, the place that she knew the best. Even though nights when she was tossed to the black sands after the Tavern had closed. She'd always curl up somewhere near the outside or in one of the caves not far off. Sussex had been where she had made her home when she landed here. The clinking of the conches against each other whilst others in the bars toasted to some sort of venture they would be going on, her eyes flicker back down to her booze. She'd considered herself a pirate. She'd been one since the day she was birthed from her mother's womb - but coming here, and not finding mainly what she needed; a crew of her own instead of being stuck on her father's. A life of her own; despite the hard shell that she wore. She pushed the one conch shell away as the man beside her started with a shrug, her muzzle dipped down to the next one of her drinks before he started speaking. 'Aye, they believe me royalty.' His accent made her ears jerk up, then flick; a rough voice to him. She took a long sip of her drink, not nearly as graceful as a woman should have been. She rolled her eyes at the accusation of "royalty". How how most men thought they were Gods' gift to the Mainland. She smirked, into the conch shell as he spoke the next words. Muscles move underneath her pelt as she shifted, turning to look at him fully. Maui reached for her drink once more, taking another long swig; drips of fermented berries sliding down her chin. She shifts away as soon as he dares to flirt with her. She again, laughs, from the depth of her chest. Hearty and loud just like her father's. Then an adamant growl comes from her lips, blackened eyes as cold as the night sky cut to him, |
She was no delicate faerie or damsel in distress for that matter. No, she was rough, ragged...almost dishevelled, her monochromatic fur was wiry and coarse. Not plush, soft or clean. There was a grit to her appearance that aided the rawness of her voice. "What do you know of piracy?" He mirrored her smirk as his tongue lapped away at the bitter liquid. It trickled down his throat and numbed the senses, wrapping him in a familiar warm, fuzzy blanket. Much better than finding a small stream. Or the sting of salt water within his wounds. Much better to be in the comfort of home. "'Aye, you could say I know quite a deal." And yet, more disappointment to aid his oh so pleasant evening; "You're not nearly pretty enough." a dismissal. One that he pretended wounded his soul. A large dark paw rose to his icy-tipped chest. A mocking gasp dragged through his scarred maw. "You wound me, lass." His tone was oh so full of hurt! Yet those icy eyes sparkled with glee. "And I, am not nearly drunk enough, to be that desperate." His head tilted to the right ever so slightly, placing his paw-daring to place it upon her silver shoulder. "Your loss." And with a chuckle, his claws slowly scraped down her side, before settling back into his perfectly perched sit. "Oh! Forgive me, where are my manners? I go by Leviathan." He finally offered, wondering whether she would indulge him with her own. "honour the gods that walk among us" @Maui |

She waits, in the smell of vomit and fermented, spoiled berries. The smell of berries wafts from the brewery tucked away in the back of the halls and hidden alleyways of the broken into cliff-side. Vomit stains the floor of the Tavern and is fresh from the bellies of those who drank too much. She'd been drunk enough to throw up on the hard floor, cheek pressed against the sand and stone, contributing to the stains that would never erode away. The silver tongued viper to the side of her. Dark blue, endless pits of the ocean glance throughout her peripheral vision when a roll of words leaves his lips. He sure speaks the lingo, but the undertone of his accent lies one of the major nationalities of Rionnach. But she isn't in tune enough to tell which. 'Aye..' He answers, drawing her attention from her drink back to his sly smirk. Her lips purse for a mere moment, chewing on foreskin of her tongue that laid in her mouth. 'You wound me, lass.' Her teeth grit in a way that can't be from him, but from the pet name that spills from his lips. 'Lass.' It's common in her life. The Captain of her youth calling after her with the term. Endearing. But from any other mouth, it can be anything. An insult, from most men, 'you don't know what 'yer talkin' 'bout, lil lass..' or 'what a hot lass.' In terms of Levi? She lets it pass, if he knows any remote thing about piracy, she'll take the loss for now. 'Your loss.' She snorts with no remorse for how she might come off. After all, she's unlike any lass around here. Built from a life of work and honor, bound together by muscle and brawn, but not manners and washed coats. She feels his paw against her shoulder and a grumble comes from the back of her throat, not fond of anyone touching her that she doesn't know. Especially men. They had a way of making it seem about them. His claws gently scrape down her side and she shifts in wake of them, trying to ignore it. She'd rather not make a scene. She's just come to enjoy her nightly booze. Even if she did have someone to attend to now. Finally, the man offered his name, Leviathan. She sees his smile out of the corner of her eye and barely offers one in return, @Leviathan |
Now she seemed intrigued. With eyes as dark as the vast, endless nightly ocean, there was wander and dare he say a linger of heat. Perhaps it was simply the berries mulling her mind, or his devilishly handsome effect upon others, either way-it was working and he was glad. For a moment, he thought he had lost it. . "Quite a deal, aye?" Oh he would not give the game away just yet, though he appreciated the effort, all she would get is an icy cold wink. Indeed, she would have to do better than that. He took another sip from his weather-torn shell, savouring the fire that trickles down his throat and warms his core. And yet she did not reciprocate, nor did she bite at his attempts to rile. She simply shrugged and delved into her liquor. It was an impressive feat, not to succumb to his manly charm."You think?" His eyes greedily gulped in her change of posture, watching as her shoulders lowered and muscles loosened. "Somethin' tells me yer pretty enough to sway any of these other women..." That coy smile grew. "Or men. A small chuckle rumbled from his scarred maw, icy eyes following her own tainted gaze to the others that inhabited the bar."'Aye... I am known to enjoy many. Man or woman, why? Need some tips?" He would be oh so happy to oblige, after all what was the night without some fun? "Maui." A name to a silvery face, Leviathan clasped his shell tenderly between his jaws and inclined his head-careful not to spill the precious liquid. It was a small gesture, one toasting to his new-found drinking companion. "Pleasure to meet you." He rumbled, before downing the rest of his drink. "So tell me, Leviathan, how does a pirate find himself ship-wrecked here. Without a crew?" For that, he would need another drink. A small sigh flared from his nostrils as he gestured the weary bartender with his large paw. "Mutiny, for starters. The bane of all Captain's existence." His gaze grew darker, anger flashing, lurking behind. Muscles grew taught within his stocky jaws, yet thankfully-another round slid its way over to him. Bitterly, he took another long gulp. "They left in the wake of battle, others joined my... adversary. Leaving me with nothing. No home. No bounty and alas, I wound up here." A snort left his nostrils, setting his attention back upon Maui. "Tragic enough for you?" He was not in the mood to discuss finer details, not when the drink had already plagued his mind. "What about you then, lass? Care to divulge your sorrows upon a devilishly handsome Captain?" Now, it was her turn. "honour the gods that walk among us" @Maui |
