D id fleeing the battlefield make him a coward? He'd been outmatched and the pouring rain had made visibility difficult at best. He had performed far from his best during the fight and had chosen to flee instead of standing to fight. He'd left Nassar, someone he greatly admired behind to save his own hide. The dull throbbing of his wounds did little to reassure him that he'd made the right choice. His limbs felt like lead currently and he felt as though he may faint at any given moment. Maybe the wounds littering the nape of his neck and just below his jaw near the soft tissue of his throat were to blame. Maybe they were festering with infection.

Let’em Wonder.. Illaria was still in rionna. After the word of the official deployment for war she’d come back. She had to be here, her mind wouldn’t let her be anywhere else. Not knowing that Nalik was likely on that battlefield with a limp, and the other Soldiers she’d come to know since the protest. She had to be here. It was crazy how that protest had changed her life so much. How she now spent more time here than anywhere else. She was walking the solemn streets, the sky as gloomy as the citizens of Rionna. Many of them had loved ones in this war, likely on both sides of the fight. And her heart heaved for mothers, wives and children of the soldiers. Many would lose someone in this fight. She was selfish enough to pray that she wasn’t going to lose anyone she knew. She was getting ready to find a room for the night when she saw the familiar body crumpled on the ground. Her heart sank for a moment and her pace quickened until she was standing over him. She couldn’t help her mind from jumping to Nalik. Ramses was Young and healthy and this is how the war had left him. Where was Nalik?! Was he okay? Her heart began to sink and she blinked tears back from her eyes. @Ramses How we got this Far |
A familiar voice roused him from his near slumber, but he didn't do as requested. His eyelids felt far too heavy to open and his head simply lolled just so to the side when she nudged his muzzle. A heavy sigh slipped from his lips as weariness threatened to grip him tight and drag him into an unforgiving oblivion, but the flicker of a small flame continued to burn within his soul. "Illaria," he murmured quietly, finally forcing his eyes open to regard her. Only a sliver of his golden hues could be seen through the crack his eyelids created but it was enough to see he was conscious. "I'm afraid I require assistance. My time on the battlefield was short and somehow unforgiving." He tried to muster the strength to pull himself to his paws but found himself incapable of budging right now. He lay his head down on the ground again, his pools of sunshine disappearing beneath lead weighed eyelids once more.

Let’em Wonder.. Her name fell from his lips and instantly relief rushed through her. She wanted to laugh at his obvious statement but she just couldn’t bring herself to do so. Not with the state he was in. @Ramses How we got this Far |
