Nora's throat was hoarse from screaming his name. It was her daily ritual and she was glad not to have a cell mate any longer to bother with it. Of course there were other prisoners in the dungeon that told her to can it, but she couldn't. She needed him and he wasn't coming. Why wasn't he coming? She remembered the look of pure rage in his face when she'd seen him that day. He'd been furious to see her there and she'd been caught off guard seeing him there. She should have expected it, his father ran him into the ground with training and now she knew what for. Another sob escaped her as she fell silent, drawing a paw over her reddened eyes as if the darkness around her wasn't enough. |

Though curiosity seemed to get the better of him, and there was a break in the screaming. Other noises seemed to cease as he clearly heard the name of his cousin falling from her lips. "I am just going to try and convince her to stop." Obsidian spoke to the other guards, as he lumbered down the hall at a slow pace. His eyes looked around the other cells as he passed by them. They seemed to silence themselves while he was present and walking by. The large male finally made it to the cell where the female had been screaming for his cousin, Leoric. That was the only possibility of names she could have been screaming out for members of the army. He stopped right at the front of the bars, his large frame facing her. "Prisoner, why do you scream the name of my cousin?"

"Prisoner, why do you scream the name of my cousin?" The question came out of the dark and echoed around her like an endless voice. Cousin? Nora shifted, her paw dropping to reveal her tear-stained face. Nobody had talked to her yet, this was the first time a guard had addressed her. Quickly, she was on her feet, her blue eyes wild as she observed the man that had come to stop before her cell. Desperation seeped into her very bones and she slid closer to the cells door. She tried to hide the fury and hurt in her eyes as she looked him up and down. Why was this man here and not Leo? How could he just... leave her down here? What she really wanted to do was spit on this Army scum and go back to her screaming, but she figured she'd catch more flies with honey than vinegar so she tried her best to put on a good façade at least for now. |

In a low tone, he spoke just audible enough for her to hear. "Tell me what you need from him and I will be the judge if he will be forced from his work to come." He stared at her, not with a soft look he had given other females before, but with a protection gaze he was giving to his cousin and member of the Imperial Army. No civilian could just ask to see one of the guards and expect it to be a commandment. He wondered how long her charade of desperation would continue.

"Yes, he is the only one named as such." Nora could feel the panic rising in her throat as the guard confirmed that he was Leo's cousin. Maybe this was how she got him down here. "Tell me what you need from him and I will be the judge if he will be forced from his work to come." She bit her tongue at the 'judge' part and tried her best not to growl in frustration. The small woman drew a deep breath and neared the edges of the bars, placing her muzzle through them and looking at him with deep blue eyes. She hadn't said it out loud yet and the reality of the possibility was just now settling in. She felt a wave of nausea hit her as fear continue to vibrate through her entire body-- a feeling she had grown to hate. If she remained here until her sentence was up these children would be born in jail. She needed to speak to Leo, see if he could do anything for her to get her the hell out of here so she didn't have to go through that. |

It wasn't like she was heavy with child at the moment but she just knew something was off. His insinuations caused her cheeks and ears to burn with fury and she wished there were no bars between them so she could wipe that stupid look right off his face. A growl rumbled in her chest and she shook her head. What could it possibly get her except the presence of the one she'd been screaming for this whole time? It wasn't like she could hurt either of them from behind these bars. She just needed to talk to him, to see his face... and yet she would continued to be denied him all because this man was accusing her of basically being a whore. There was nothing fair this entire situation. She was stuck here, with or without Leo, until nearly summer... but maybe if she could see him and he could see her, life this, it might get her sentence lifted. She didn't know how it all worked but she was desperate to try anything at this point. |

Nora watched him as he stroked the bars with his paw and her lips decided to curl upon their own, without her meaning to. She wanted to rip into him but he was right, she was trapped in here and there was nothing she could do. With that, she was done. She spun around and faced the wall. She would not let him see the hot, angry tears that had begun to stream down her face. She was trapped in here, without Leo, and now this. It was another blow she could not momentarily take with her hormones wreaking havoc on her body. She might not look pregnant yet, but she could feel it in her bones. Something was off and it was the only explanation in her eyes. |
