While she didn't regret managing to break out of prison, life on the run was certainly more stressful than she had imagined. She had high-tailed it pretty quickly away from the mainland and where soldiers frequently occupied as a first step but even so, every sound, every wolf she didn't know immediately felt like a threat. It was exhausting.

Still miles better than being locked up in a dark, damp, cold dungeon though. So she'd try not to complain too much.

Eventually after hiding out in the forests for some time she had plucked up the courage to visit her old home. It felt risky being among so many wolves. Some of them would recognise her from when she had grown up in the college, though she had no idea what sort of details the soldiers had put out after her escape. A description? Her name?

Echo walked through the college carefully, the early evening meaning that most classes would have finished and, hopefully, that would mean less wolves. She still needed to trade despite the beginning of Spring meaning hunting would get easier, and she wanted to know if Arthur had managed to escape as well.

A tatty scrap of fabric hung around her neck that held a few bundles of plants and herbs that the college usually liked to trade for, and having been unable to spot Arthur herself she approached an individual - a motley blend of black and white. "Excuse me, do you know a student by the name of Arthur?" It had been so long she didn't actually know what Arthur's role was within the College anymore. It left her with a twinge of guilt for having been away for so long.

"Speak."

Nails clicked against stone as paces wandered, sights flickering over titles overhead as they rested snugly upon the shelves. Hardly any what they searched for while others were rifled through, yanked from their perches into a pile with the careful grip of fang. While those out of reach lay forgotten but no matter until a beast of height was found there was certainty they had more than enough to delve into at the moment. Something new to spur the mind towards enthrallment of their own making... but not here. All was best left to the privacy of their chambers where hardly any but their darling student sought them out.

Each book carefully bound into cloth bundle, something more easily carried back only for paces to stall shortly after fleeing the quiet of the library, long before they could cross a threshold into privacy. Yet the face that stared back at them was not one known. A stranger, much like any other who wandered these halls though it would hardly stop the way mismatched gaze roved over her. This woman of smoky silver, extremities veiled in shadow, all with a sharp piercing blue staring back at them. Not exactly a wonder nor an oddity amonst the crowd yet still a creature that could enrapture.

She was a stranger, one just as foreign as the name laced into that simple askance. And despite the way the chimera’s lips twisted, a soft grin pulling over their features - it was a kindness that did not reach their eyes, “Afraid not my dear.” For they knew very few within these walls. Choosing to remain a recluse and interact only when it became a necessity for matters of work or feigned politeness. Though focus could not help but to drift toward the wafting aromas about her throat, portions of the blend identifiable upon the senses even as they sought to mix into one mottled scent.

For now the doctor does not call blatant attention to what is known, “Perhaps I can assist you with what you seek? Or pass a message along to this Arthur if you are in a hurry.” Should such a being even dwell here, should they even encounter him before this nameless discovered a stranger’s whereabouts.
