[ P ] Rebirths and Reunions

She dipped her head and accepted the satchel as Khepri slipped it over her head. This was perfect for traveling with. She offered him a nod of thanks. She adjusted the satchel to get used to its feeling and then looked at her friend.

She could tell he was still nervous about her plans even before he began to speak again.

“Khep. I know you’re worried. But it’s that very reason that I Must go. Think of all the injuries that people are going to get. Think about the innocent bystanders who may get hurt.” She was stubborn. And she’d already made up her mind on this long before she’d come to talk to him about it.

“I promise you I’ll be okay. And if I’m not you can kick my ass yourself. Please don’t worry too much. It’s going to be okay. I’ll be okay. I’ll be there for the protest. And a few days after that. But then I WILL return to Eòlas in one piece.” She wasn’t mad that he was worried. In fact she wished there was more she could do to reassure him that she’d be okay. She didn’t want him to worry, but she knew she had a job to do.

There was no talking her out of this so with a sigh, he nodded his head. "Okay. I just really hope you know what you're doing Illaria." he said. "If things get too crazy... just get out of there." he urged. She didn't need to be in on the fray to be able to help those injured afterward. All he could hope was that the protest didn't get violent now.

With that, he turned to exit his classroom, assuming she would follow and whether she did or didn't, he would stand by the door to talk to her one last time before bidding farewell. "I've got to get back home, but take care of yourself... please." he said before offering her a smile and disappearing down the crumbling halls of the college.

Illaria felt a small pang of guilt that she was making Khepri worry so much about her. But she knew this was something she had to do. There was no way she could not be there to help out. But she understood his fears at the dangers she would be in. Caught between two angry factions was a dangerous place for anyone to be. But she was well prepared for that, at least mentally and medically. But she knew it was no use in trying to convince him of all that. He would still worry about her until she returned to the college. And she would return to the college.

As he moved to exit his classroom she followed close behind him. She had kept him long enough. And when he spoke of going home. She nodded. “Thank you for everything Khepri. I really do appreciate everything you do for me. You’re amazing. And I promise I shall return before you know. Don’t worry to much my friend” and with that she watched him go. Before she turned the opposite direction and began her journey towards castle Stuart.
