Silvery gaze looked up at her expectantly, half worried that his offer might cross her boundaries. What if he spooked her again? He had only wanted her to be comfortable, and admittedly somewhat selfishly to be close to her. The idea of such closeness did make his heart flutter with anxiety, but he was growing very comfortable around Merrin. He knew she would not break his trust. |
Now taking a moment to rest, she realized just how exhausted she truly was. She allowed herself to relax further, letting her body sink into the earth completely where she lay next to Luciel. With every blink her eyelids felt heavier and she tried her hardest to keep them open when her dear friend spoke to her.

Weariness began to settle into his muscles and joints. The heat had sapped all of his energy and it was nice to take the weight of his paws. Argent noticed that Merrin was exhausted too. Of course she was. The army must have been stretched to its limits with the heat wave and Merrin was nothing if not a hard worker. Was she getting enough sleep? The concern made his brow wrinkle slightly, but it softened when Merrin agreed that she'd had fun too. He smiled again, happy that his tail was behaving itself for once too. He didn't want to disturb Merrin by moving it unconsciously. |
