It had taken her a lot of work to work up the nerve to come here. She'd battled her anxiety the entire way but finally, she'd reached the barracks and felt good enough to train for the day. So that was what she was doing when a guard came in and told her someone was here to see her. At first Badari stared at him in confusion but then remembrance lit up her gaze. "Ah, yes. I did tell her to meet me here, didn't I?" she murmured more to herself than the other guard who was no ambling away, his duty having been done. She turned to the man she'd been training with to dismiss herself and then shook out her ember fur and trotted to the main entryway. This wasn't where they usually met but she wanted Evelyn to see her progress for herself. She hadn't been able to leave Rionna for what felt like forever and now she was here, in Yorkshire. She could scarcely believe it.
She slipped past the front doors and out into the open, spotting Evenlyn with ease and her companion cat along with her. She chuckled quietly but said nothing about the cat as she walked up to her therapist with a warm smile on her face. Without her and the help of her friends she didn't think any of this would be possible. She would have turned into a hermit and closed herself off in the manse for the rest of her life. But that wouldn't be her life, no... she had loosened the chains holding her down today and gotten a taste of freedom and it was invigorating. It was a step in the right direction, a step closer back to her old self. "I did it, Eve... I made it here all by myself," she nearly squealed as she wrapped Evelyn in her arms for a hug. A few seconds passed and she disentangled herself from the other woman, feeling a strange wave of embarrassment fill her. "Sorry, I just... guess I got too excited." she breathed, letting out a short laugh. It might've been the first time anyone had heard her laugh in a long time. "Badari Tiamat speaking." |

She was glad that Evelyn did not shy away from her affection, it would have made the encounter a little more awkward than Badari intended. But they hugged almost like they were old friends and she couldn't be more grateful -- she was starting to see her therapist as that... a friend. Was that wrong? She wasn't honestly sure. Her ears twitched as she drew away and Evelyn told her there was no need to apologize. She dove right into chatting about the barracks and how she'd never been here before. Badari had almost grown up here, more or less, and she knew the place well.
"I can't take you around too much, because some of us are in the middle of training but we can walk the edges of the barracks near the forest!" she said. She didn't want to interrupt anyone with an audience they might not want. She offered the woman a smile then began walking along the pathways that wound around the barracks between the forest trees. "I know a little grove we can go to when you're ready," she added. It was quiet there, and nobody would be there this time of day. "Badari Tiamat speaking." |

"Things have been slowly getting better. I'm able to leave Rionna more and more without experiencing panic attacks. I'll be able to resume work very soon, I think. I'm excited to get back to my life." she said, her tail swaying behind her as she walked alongside Evelyn and her feline companion. It was strange to think she'd been out of practice so long but she wanted to get back to it and show everyone that she was not some broken shell. She was Badari Tiamat!
She continued walking as Evelyn asked her about their meals. "We generally get three a day to keep up our energy. It's mostly fresh or cooked meat, a variety really. Whatever the Army can get in stock for the day works." she said. There wasn't anything specific with their meals that she could think of honestly. She paused her walking about halfway around the barracks to stop and look at her therapist. "Do you think our sessions will end once I'm... better?" she asked. She admitted to herself that she would miss Evelyn as she had become someone Badari depended on but that relationship would not need to go on forever, she assumed. "Badari Tiamat speaking." |
