OKSANA ABERSENTHE All she could remember was the cold. How she had left a place of warmth, solitude and quiet to be brought into a place so chilled and loud. There was a lot that happened in the day, a bunch of different bodies passing from one place to another, but one thing that always remained the same was her mother. The scent was so familiar, the sound of her heartbeat, the smell of her perfumes—this was home. When orange eyes would flutter open she would be met with a gaze so brilliant she could never forget it. Now the small babe lay nestled in the warmth of her mother's fur, her cold nose dipped beneath the soft spot of Nora's arm. She didn't want to leave, and a single audit would flick at the sound of another familiar voice. "Papa," her vocabulary was limited, though she knew the two words very well, and to whom they belonged. There she would be met with another familiar gaze of warm gold, and a smile. She groaned, tired from her day of constant nestling against her mother and trying to find a comfortable place. She felt quite lazy, her dad would try and coax her to play, but she just didn't want to leave her mother's side. @Nora |
Nora had not gotten to experience this with her older daughters and so the loving moments spent with Oksana nestled against her were all the more cherished. She wouldn't trade this precious time for anything. She hoped that Hyacinth and Dahlia would not resent her or their sister for the attention spent on the young one but she just could not help it. She was transfixed, in awe, simply put... in love. Anteros had been right, they had a single girl, and she was happy with that. Oksana had been her name and Kai... well she dubbed that her lost son for she did not expect to have anymore children after this given her and Anteros' age. They were older parents this time around and there was nothing wrong with that but they'd be even older once Oksana was a yearling and probably unable to keep up with little ones anymore. A breathy sigh left her as Oksana snuggled deeper into her dark fur. She uttered a word, one she knew well, and she looked to Anteros with a smile. He was probably going to head out soon so she would take this time to enjoy his company and that of their snoozing daughter. Once he took off for work, she'd be alone with Oksana as the girls were out playing. ... Nora nudged the dark furred pup gently, trying to rouse her so that she did not sleep all day and keep them up all night. |
OKSANA ABERSENTHE She felt her mother's cold nose prod at her side, uttering words that she understood the reasoning of, but not directly what they meant. In response she let out a groan, allowing her mother to poke and prod her until she was met with a soft jab to the belly which felt weird, it made her giggle in response. Again, and again, and again each time made her burst with more laughter it was hard to stop. "Otay," she rolled over until her four paws met the ground, a lazy tongue rolling out of her mouth in a yawn. She then looked at her mother with question, what were they going to do today? Papa was out, that much she knew, he often worked closer to when the sky got dark. Luckily she was able to spend time with her mother in those hours in between. She saw her sisters too, here and there, though they seemed more interested in one another. She didn't understand it was due to her age, and nothing personal. Of course she could hope. A small tail wagged behind her as she playfully nipped at her mother's paw, not realizing how sharp baby teeth were. |
As the girl got up, her eyes curious, Nora smiled. She was so happy with the way her life had turned out, despite everything. She had everything she wanted. Her family, her daughters, a wonderful man... it was almost too good to be true. She winced slightly as her daughter nipped her playfully and she turned, returning the gesture but much more gently as she nipped at the pups ears. As she moved into the living room she headed for the door with Oksana hopefully trailing behind. exit nora via going to play on the beach |
OKSANA ABERSENTHE The world, or that's what her mom called it at least, was such a big place. The ocean was something they spoke about before, but Oksana would be seeing it for the first time. The excitement left her in the form of a yip as she stood at her mother's paws, waiting for direction towards this ocean. The scent in the air was salty she could sometimes taste it on her tongue if she tried hard enough. From what she was told by her mother, the ocean also had a lot of animals in it. Fish? That's what she thought she was told. "I wanna see fishhhh," she giggled softly as the two of them began their journey towards the ocean. She knew dad wasn't too far behind and she also knew that he would probably join them sometime in a bit. Oksana liked when they all spent time together, it was fun! |
