He walked through the forest, alongside a babbling brook, with a hare dangling from his jaws. It had been such a long time since he'd hunted for himself he'd almost forgotten how to. He usually relied on the markets in Perth, or elsewhere, to find sustenance to sate his hunger but with the way things were rapidly changing now that King Jacob had taken over the Highlands he steered clear of the more heavily populated areas. His own home was on the outskirts of Perth and so was the abandoned cottage he'd found for Endellion to stay in while she gained her footing in Rio... well, Saora now if the word on the wind was true. She was not from here and that would take time getting used to. They had not been able to figure out a way to get her home, across the sea, so for now this was her life.

He approached the cottage and walked up to the open doorway. He need not knock, for she didn't really seem to understand the concept of such a thing anyway. He tossed the hare into the doorway, his tail waving as he stepped inside and looked around the somewhat dusty abode. "Anybody home?" he called out softly. If she was in another room, she'd hear him. If she wasn't home well, he'd just sit down by the door with his hare to wait for her to return.

Gwydion realized with the splintering of his homeland he'd have even more to explain to Endellion. How he was going to do that just yet... he wasn't sure. They'd picked up some words here and there of each others languages but not nearly enough to converse smoothly.

The more time that passed and the longer Endellion spent away from her pack made her restless. She wondered how they were faring without her and if they had chosen a new alpha. The Ironteeth were all she had and even with Gwydion spending time with her she felt the absence gnawing away at her heart hungrily leaving a hole that she couldn't fill. There were wolves that had knowledge of how to cross the sea and she was determined to find one who could help her. Gwydion’s voice rang out and her ears perked. The strange square den that he had found her still made her nervous, half of her wondered if spirits had constructed it. Was she offending them by taking residence in their den? Was that why a piece of the den had crumbled from above and hit her on the head? . “No ennybodee. Endellion home,” she answered his call, odd eyes watching him. She understood more of his language, but there were still phrases she stumbled over despite her best efforts. . “Den attack,” she told him, lifting a large paw to touch her sore head and scowled at the strange den she was living in. . Gwirodydd angry. Want Endellion go,” (Spirits) she explained her worries, trying to think of the Reenok word for spirits, but not coming up with anything so she tried to explain more.

. “Can’t see gwirodydd. Give gift, make happy. They be nice,” she explained in her broken english, eyes falling upon the hare finally. He had hunted for her like she was his pack and that confused her.

As she stepped into view, he smiled warmly at her... that is until she mentioned the 'den' attacking her. Blinking, he looked around curiously then let his eyes land back on her as she lifted a paw to her head -- where he could imagine she'd been struck. Maybe a part of the structure had crumbled and fallen on her? It was his best guess. A low chuckle escaped him and he shook his head when she mentioned something being angry and wanting her to go. "The den is old... sometimes it crumbles... that's all," he tried to explain. She tried to explain as well, mentioning that 'gwirodydd' needed gifts to be made happy, then they'd leaave her alone.

At this his ears perked a bit and he wondered if by that she meant the fae or something like them. She glanced at his hare and he smiled, nodding his head towards her. "For you. If you're hungry." he said. "If not... maybe we can give it to the gwirodydd?" he said, trying out the strange word. It sounded a lot like his name and he briefly wondered if she was talking about him? But that wouldn't make a lot of sense, so he didn't think that was correct. His tail thumped a couple times behind him and he stood up, nosing the hare towards her. She could do with it as she so pleased.
