Gideon

There is a distant lapping sound where the water met the shore; a constant ebb and flow that created a calming and hypnotic lullaby that fills his ears. Laying flat on his side was Gideon just outside the grasp of the waves; enjoying the warm sand that cradled him, and the salty breeze that caressed his soaked coat. I’m on a beach. he thought, before ever opening his eyes. Listening to the waves, the breeze, and the gulls. Everything felt so hazy. So close, but out of focus..

For a moment, Gideon found himself sinking into the soft arms of sleep. “Fuck.” Gideon groans low and slow as he rolls over from laying flat on his side to sitting up, trying to wake himself. The muscles in his body felt stiff and heavy and they held a deep, lingering ache within them. His throat and nose were sore with each breath and his eyelids stung. He felt like shit. And he felt..exhausted. The wolf wasn't aware that he had literally washed ashore like driftwood onto the beach.

Gideon’s memories felt as hazy as his consciousness that he was fighting to cling to, and eventually he would succumb to his body's evident exhaustion...

Until his tranquil cat-nap was abruptly shattered when an unexpected pinch jolted him awake. Gideon yelped, startled and disoriented, his eyes shot open and his head whirled around, following the source of his pain, to find a feisty fat crab clinging defiantly to his tail. A mix of surprise and mild irritation flickered across Gideon’s features. Part of him was humbled at the smaller creature's boldness- but the other part was annoyed and hungry. ”Lo que un pequeño hombre valiente que eres.(what a brave little man you are)!” He growls, lunging, his jaws clamping down around the crab, the shell caved easily beneath his teeth with a wet crunch. One man's pain is his lunch he supposes. While sucking on the crab and trying to spit out the hard shell bits Gideon tries to reflect on the events that occurred before he got here..on some strange beach..soaking wet, likely washed up from the ocean. Not much came to him. Except remnants of a strong storm while he was adrift at sea.

The male sighs and slumps down in the sand again, laying on his belly, basking in the sun like a snake. His eyes half-lidded and sleepy, only somewhat monitoring his surroundings. Gideon was still feeling pretty sore and tired, so for now he would rest and listen to the ocean while his imagination ran wild. Just where was this strange land? Does it have locals? And if so, what were they like?

[NOTES]: Gideon has washed ashore, has a mild concussion and some temporary memory loss that he is unaware of! Anyone welcome~

As she walked along the beach there was a gentle sway to her step. She was daydreaming again and not paying attention to her surroundings, as usual, and therefore she did not notice the man washed ashore until she was upon him. She stopped in her tracks at the sound of crunching and her dark ears flicked back and forth as her dark gaze settled on the man whilst he dined on a crab. Her own stomach would growl but she knew there was not enough of that crab to share between the both of them and that would require him wanting to share with a stranger in the first place. Still, she was curious enough about him that she disregarded her rumbling tummy to introduce herself. "Hello! I'm Nilu." she chirped, her stubby tail wagging behind her in a friendly manner. She had no qualms with giving the drenched man her name and she expected his in return. She walked up to him, her steps bouncy and light, and wore a smile on her dark face as she bent to sniff his salty fur. "Gone for a swim?"

She glanced at the water as it lapped at the beach and shivered a little, not thinking it the best time for a swim given the season. There was a chill in the air as autumn crept in. She wondered what kind of winter she'd be in for and hoped it was not brutal. She had to take care of herself and doing that would be extra hard then. Her gaze returned to him and she still smiled. "It's a bit cold for that, I wouldn't advise it... nope, nope, nope!" she chimed, shaking her head back and forth as if she were waggling a finger at him. "You might catch cold!" she warned, then her smile slipped away and she shivered again, a little sneeze escaping her as she did so. "Oh!" she exclaimed, eyes widening slightly. Maybe she had already managed to catch one herself!

Gideon

Gideon had just finished getting the last remaining bits of succulent meat inside the crab's shell when the sounds of shifting sands prompted his ears to swivel, facing the source of sound. His head follows soon after, his half-lidded gaze lazily watching the dark colored stranger approach. That didn't take long, he thinks, feeling somewhat surprised. The man hadn't expected to run into another wolf so soon. On a beach of all places! But life always had a way of surprising the sailor. The one who came before him on bubbly steps was pitch black; the place where light went to die. All except for the eyes, among their darkness were small illuminated ruby flecks. Unnerving, and yet, he couldn't quit staring into the endless depth of her gaze. ”Gone for a swim?” ”might have dipped a toe, or two in?”

”Worried about mi health?” he starts with a grin, as toothy as a shark. ”Das real sweet.” Gideon suddenly remembered the nine, fat, crab legs that remained between his paws, uneaten. Then she sneezed. The noise drew his gaze back to her once more. Gideon didn't dare fight off the coy grin on his pale lips. ”want to sit wif me, Nilu? The dark colored male offers her one of his crablegs in-between words. ”Wouldn't want you ta catch a cold.” his eyes twinkle with laughter that is unheard.

Gideon let's a silence linger over them for a moment as he gazes around the unfamiliar place. ”Where are we, might you know? The sea spit me out here…so I'm a wee bit…eh.”there is a pause in his sentence as he searches for the right word.”..lost.”

He seemed friendly enough as he retorted he might've dipped in a toe or two, when he was completely soaked. This brought a small giggle forth from her, bubbly as the waves that lapped at the sandy beach. She didn't notice the crab legs between his paws as he offered her to come sit with him in case she was catching a cold.

Nilu considered him a moment, then shrugged and moved to his side. It was then she notice the crab legs and her brow rose curiously.

It was then that he proclaimed he was lost and asked where he was. Nilu pursed her lips at this and stared up at him thoughtfully. "Rionnach -- well, Saora now." she replied simply. As if he should just have known that. "Whaddaya mean the sea spit you out? Are you from elsewhere?" she asked, this time her curiosity peaked. She sniffled lightly, the scents of salt and sea and sand meeting her nose in the process. She didn't much care for the smell of it but the view? It was beautiful. Her gaze had drifted a little bit as she stared off into sea before returning to the stranger beside her. She was not the least bit frightened of him and that would show as she easily bumped her shoulder with his.

"You've found yourself in a land fresh out of war, you see, and what was once whole is now split. Saora, Rionnach, Rionnach, Saora... it's all the same to me though, but be careful on the borders between. They watch there." she warned him mysteriously.
