![]() His blood stained her paws and parts of her muzzle. It was faint smears of red that stood out sharply against her ivory coat. She couldn't explain why she kept crossing paths with this wolf, but she did, repeatedly. Each time he was just as gruff as the last, holding something against her. He didn't deserve her help, but she still did. Using everything she had just gathered, she set back out, rummaging through the path she had taken here to collect more herbs.
Pastel eyes narrowed. She had had just about enough of rude wolves for the day. So when the strange woman started to approach, Sienna shifted her weight, bettering her footing. But that was when she noticed the womans strange, transparent appearance. Delicate brows immediately furrowed. "You know my son." her english was broken, her gaelic accent thick.
Pale lips lifted in warning when the woman approached, but it wouldn't deter her and Sienna wasn't given a chance to do anything before a chill swallowed her whole. Stumbling back, she shook herself, but she couldn't quite seem able to. It was as if the controls had been taken from her and all she could do was watch. No matter how she fought or yelled, the valley was just as silent as it had been. On its own accord, her body began walking, heading back towards where Aurelius rested.

His mind was a mess, his temper playing with his head as it faded then returned in waves. He first embarked on his mission to find the massive beast of a woman that he so firmly held a grudge against. His body ached, his energy faded just as fast as it carried it to the borders of aberdeen, then to Melrose. The wounds that decorated his face were no longer lingering claims from the Imperial woman that he despised; they were reclaimed, not by himself nor the woman, but the girl, the one not of his kind. Her paws and muzzle worked with herbs and gentleness, piecing his face back together the best it could be for now. This girl also left him with a subtle warning, telling him of the bodies that flooded the halls and rooms of the college. He would fail miserably at tracking just one them down. Somehow, her warning was enough to take heed, and turn back to Inverness. Daylight was drifting away slowly now, even moreso than when he let the girl heal what she could. They both parted ways, and he set a course for the way he came. It wasn't long however until he once more found himself in the path of her scent once again. Lilacs, a bittersweet gift to touch his nose, something so sweet was wrapped around someone he could hardly stand to breathe the same air as. Changing his direction just a hair wasn't enough to fall off of her path, no, of course not. He would once more be graced with her presence, unless he could avoid it. However, in his scheming mind he was too caught up to realize she was just ahead of him, facing his direction. As he wandered closer, he would pivot his course, easily able to walk past her and ignore her even. However, as the boy and her were close enough to see the look of distaste on one another's faces, he would freeze in his tracks. A softer sea of green washed over him, a sense of familiarity came rushing in and held an overwhelmingly warm grip around the heart of his that dared stop for a moment in its own disbelief. The girl's two faces would drift away, while a soft, smokey face would show itself long enough for him to draw in a quiet, shaking breath. The boy would bound after the familiar face, the one he so rarely saw even in his dreams anymore. He brought himself just feet away, his lungs aching and screaming at him to breathe. And did just that, though hesitation would release his breath in short waves, for fear of losing sight of what was before him: a mother, her gaze warm and inviting, a face so comforting he could nearly melt in a second. As he drew in another breath, trying to find words to piece together what he wanted to say, she was gone just as fast as she appeared. He was staring at the girl's face of two. Warmth swelled in his own eyes, while a dry sting ached in his throat as the heavy weight of grief steamrolled the boy into a fit of confusion and frustration. Maybe, just maybe, he was fast asleep under the tree still. Or maybe, whatever that girl used on him was not of the healing sorts, but the poisoning. He could be hallucinating, it was a fever dream. How could she? Of course she would! A growl would claw its way through the sting of the sobs that lodged in his throat, bitter words shooting to the girl. |
![]() She didn't understand what was happening. She still saw the world from her own eyes, but she no longer felt the crisp autumn air trying to wiggle through her coat to kiss her skin or the soft valley ground beneath her paws. When she yelled, nothing happened. It was like she had been placed inside a soundproof box within her own body. Sienna wouldn't give in though, she resisted, twisting and turning in attempt to break whatever this hold was over her.
The highlander ghost grunted softly, the two faced girl she had stumbled upon was putting a fight against her possession, trying to regain control of her own body. Giving herself a thorough shake, she resisted the girl and continued through the valley. For the first time in what felt like a life time, she could feel the breeze on her face and the grass under her paws. It was refreshing. A small smile would touch pale lips.
But she wasn't here to enjoy the sights and smells that had for so long been absent from her existence. Aurelius. Her son. She was here for him. There was so much he didn't know, so much she didn't know. All she knew was she had to get to him, she had to tell him what little she did know. As luck would have it, this strange two faced girl seemed to constantly run into her son.
When she finally laid eyes on him, her heart swelled with pride. He had grown so much. But now fresh wounds adorned his face, ravaging him outwardly just as his rage ravaged him inwardly. He looked as though he was about to avoid her entirely, his paws angled to change his course when he froze. Recognition flashed briefly on his wounded face before he was racing towards her. That soft smile returned, pleased to see that her son had not forgotten her.
Only a short distance stood between them now. She was working hard to press her own visage to the surface, but the two faced girl worked against her, still resisting. It was exhausting and hard to maintain. So a moment later, Sienna's appearance returned in its entirety. They both sagged a little with relief from the effort. But it would enrage her son and his aggression immediately rose to the surface. She had been watching him though, all the times he had crossed paths with this mainlander girl, he hadn't laid a finger on her. She didn't truly believe he would hurt her. Still, she would press outward again, her eyes flickering in color and halting him in his tracks.

"My son" her words were ever warm on his heart that rarely felt such a sensation, which was something only she was capable of giving the boy. Yet, a bitter cold would coil tighter around him, both emotionally and physically: this was not his mother's face, only her voice and her touch was barely a brush with ice, it made a chill run down his spine. He already spent most of their time staring at the odd face of the girl he hardly knew, but now he only gazed with a look of confusion rather than curiosity. "I've missed you... you are a mess". To hear her voice and feel her gaze wash over him would bring a whirlwind of emotions to his surface, most of which he hardly recognized. |
