Colburn

The hours ticked away slowly while Colburn waited for the sun to set. Longer days were boring and he was hungry. Like a bear awakening from hibernation he shook off his sleep and lazily lumbered off in search of food. Breaking and entering wasn't his usual choice of crime, but he could smell a feast within the walls of someone's house. He wiggled in through a window and found a stash of meat that someone had kindly stored for him. The little thief ate until his belly was fat and swollen and let out a gluttonous burp. Colburn couldn't remember ever being as full as he was. In fact he didn't know it was possible to eat so much that it hurt.

He heaved himself back outside and fell out of the window instead of gracefully jumping. It was more like a seal belly flopping into the ocean than a cat landing on its paws. He rolled to the side of the house and briefly considered getting up and gave up. The Imps were far too busy stomping around and fighting the Jay Cubs to bother him so he dozed like a fat lazy cat, dark eyes fluttering closed. It wouldn't be a bad idea to take a nap and rest after all that hard work. Soon the little thief was sprawled out, belly up and snoring like a bear.
