Her tail twitched in mild amusement and annoyance at his insult turned question about her job and had she the ability, she might have purred then as a glint in her eye was finding its way there. “Who said I didn’t get the outcomes I wanted?” she tilted her head at him. Who she wanted dead was all in her hands, a lawyer's job having never been honesty or morals, it was twisting the truth to get the results they wanted. In her case, those results weren’t always beneficial to the one she was supposed to be defending and instead of lying, like they wanted her to to save their hides, she’d untether the truth they wanted concealed. And if she wanted them saved, they would be saved. It was all a fun game to her, playing with political power to get exactly what appeased her.

Where her hands were clean, not a speck of blood on them, her words were a dagger that was not afraid to dig deeper and deeper in till the last breath of her victims were choked out. Some of the judges didn’t even need any persuasion in the matter, some of it being a mutual favor to one another. In her eyes, only a couple cases had she truly failed.

As the conversation had taken a turn to her emotions eating her alive, she was waiting for him to break her down further and further. Well, at least try. She had little faith he would succeed in such an endeavor or she would be shrinking under him right now, begging for mercy, neither of which she was doing now. He definitely had made her not trust him any further than she could throw him, finding his demeanor absolutely appalling and pathetic.

A brow would raise at him calling her a silly girl, not entirely sure what he was inferring in that statement but she could only assume the worse. She stiffened only slightly at his following statement about how protective his son was over her and its rarity, causing her to watch him as he started to walk away, gaze narrowing to points before softening. “Since that surprises you, then you have no right to be walking into a situation you know nothing of,” she huffed, looking away from him as the vision of metals played in her head, able to feel the heat that often blossomed between them up until recently.

“If you are worried about your children, you shouldn't put them into repeat situations that lead to your own traumas…or assume I’m her,” she said with a bitter breath. She didn’t know the full story of Kenzo’s mother, only clips but she had a feeling an arrangement had been the start of that carnival ride and now he’s stepping into one he created for his son, setting up a world of failure by shadowing his own image. “You call me a failure of a wife but I was who you picked to be his wife. Deep down you hope I can still heal him, that I can fix what you and your wife caused him because you two failed him first,” she stated with a flick of her tail, holding back plenty of crass words if only because he had done the same in not being any crueler.

She would not stop him from leaving, relieved to see him gone.
