Absently, she strolled through the wintry plains, paws sinking heavily into the snow and leaving small pawprints in her wake. Edinburgh was pretty, very different from the mainlands Lacuna was used to. Tall, towering trees were everywhere and it was impossible to see for miles and miles like you could when you stood atop one of the many rolling hills. She wasn't sure which she enjoyed more -- the open air and tall grasses or thick canopies of endless trees. They both had their qualities to enjoy and she put aside such thoughts for another time. Right now, she was focusing on the rumbling of her stomach. White blanketed the world, bringing with it a terrible chill that threatened the life of foliage and creatures alike. It wasn't exactly easy to find prey during the winter in Rionnach and absently, she wondered if she should meander into town to buy something there. She was a bit of a cheapskate, trying her best to save her money, but sometimes sacrifices had to be made. Biting her lip, she squinted to where the lone town sat in the distance, debating whether it was worth the trek or if she should just turn and journey back to the college before it got to be too late. art & code by enie

Satchel Still got the scars on my back from your knife He had to hand it to himself, somehow it was always easy to end up this way.
Going round and round in circles, as if dreaming might be just out of grasp. He'd been out here for a rather brief space if time, wallowing thick in the snowy embrace. He was of course almost perfectly camouflaged for such things, save the molten hues of his eyes. He was quite restless today, having just not only reunited with his sister, but also a handsome devil of a beast had stumbled upon him. For this reason alone, he almost wished to escape to the stars.
He hadn't entirely intended to hunt, but as he moved along he couldn't help but notice the scent of a red deer. A doe, rather frailing on her own as she stumbled through the snow. From the looks of it she wasn't long for this world anyway, and he approached without caution. Besides any of the herd would be long gone for now. She squinted at him and bleated once, before stumbling away into the midst of nowhere. He followed rather unapologetically, taking his time as he surveyed the rest of the landscape.
But then she bolted using the last of her reserves, and so he sprinted after her noticing of the corner of his eye another wolf not too far off. A ghost in color such as himself. He tackled the doe expertly, she wasn't too large in fact she wasn't much larger than a fawn. Must be the runt of the litter. As he grasped her neck and shook it, he glanced up to acknowledge the other beast. The Frozen wasteland doing it's best to claim his heart.
He wasn't sure who she was but she looked young enough. As the doe twitched her last breath, he nodded once towards her wondering what her story was. Perhaps it was better not to know. Still there was enough meat for both of them, and he long since ago promised himself not to be a monster. His invitation was very clear, and without a second thought he tore into the delicious sweet nutrients of the Earth. The cycle of life. For the most part he was as introverted as they came, so somewhat consider it is success story that he even tried in the first place. code by chip |
