Panic laden whispers fall from the lips of thieves, those who’d fled from the embrace of what should have been an easy mark. Surely the cabin’s owner would not miss what had been left behind though such a place was far from empty. The shadows seeming to come alive, taking the form of prowling beasts that words could not describe. Many who listened to their tales chalked it up to hallucinations, lies to keep others at bay; however, truth lay beyond their lyrics. The manipulative tendrils of the fae have dug their talons into the land, their hold emanating over all who trespass upon their domain. Senses twisted through the overhanging dusting of spores.

Is it all a trick of the fae or does something wicked truly reside within the mire?

Within the depths of the Maiden’s Braid, nestled against the twisting roots of the mangrove swamp, lies a dilapidated cottage. One nearly reclaimed entirely by nature in the ways foliage intertwines with mixed stone and wood. From a glance, there appears to be nothing out of the ordinary - merely housing long abandoned - though should one linger in its presence there comes an undeniable whisper. A lure which beckons them within despite the way feelings of dread permeates the land; telling of the rumored beasts which lurk beneath the surface.

For those who ignore their baser instincts and press on through the cabin they may stumble across the entrance to a winding system of tunnels. Many of them painstakingly dug out by the cabin’s old owner with nothing more than flickering firelight or the faint bioluminescence of plant life to illuminate its corridors.

Come explore the Infested Cabin or - for the more daring - the tunnel system hollowed out beneath it. To partake in the first half of the Halloween event all you have to do is post in the Haunted Hollow and explore the provided locations.

Exploration flavor text can be generated using [ roll=hollow ] while more combative encounters may randomly spawn in your thread via storyteller. Interactions with the plagued denizens can be ignored, however, should you engage with them please post in #updates!
