hock and awe struck the female to a point where she did not know how to process the information she had received months ago, even now as she pondered over it. It did not rest well with her that something of this nature would happen in the ranks of the army. She had never believed the rumor she heard of the Jacobite forced to give birth to her young behind bars. But a second story that was almost so similar, only the poor girl hadn't birthed a litter yet, was barely pregnant when forced into that situation - it was ridiculous. Calla had went to the parade with the intention of trying to enjoy herself. She also would be paying attention to the crowds, making sure that if any needed healing, she was present and able. Her supplies were not far from her for simple injuries.

Her pale eyes looked over the crowd, moving to weave in and out of the onlookers, and finally going to the outer area to get a better view. There were so many present. She could tell which of the soldiers really didn't want to be there. It was not until she saw the golden form of the Tiamat soldier she had known and helped in the past. She had felt like there could have been something great there, but it was apparent that Sethos was not as noble as his namesake made him out to be. Immediately, she felt a sense of rage cover her form. It was something she had never felt before, maybe once - when she was initially told by the young lady what had happened between the pair. Her eyes locked on him, like a predator does to prey. She weaved around others carefully, not wanting to let anything get in her path.

"Sethos!" She shouted at the top of her lungs. She was not going to be respectful of his rank or title right now. He did not deserve that respect. "You have a lot of explaining to do. I don't want any excuses or lies!" She was physically mad, and it was only going to get worse as time went on. He needed to know what he had done was wrong - dead wrong. It was uncharacteristic of her to behave in such a manner, but this was serious. If the soldiers thought they were above common courtesy and laws, they had another thing coming. Reality or Calla - whichever came first - was going to slap him across the face.

Note: Set before "Fine Wine" with Harlow

It was the first day of the parade, and unfortunately Sethos was tasked with being on patrol. While the general theme was to be peaceful, there was still suspicions that lay underneath all the glamour of the parade and so the King still wanted soldiers to be present. He figured the memories of the riots were still fresh to the royal highness, so he couldn't really blame him.

But selfishly, he wanted to be anywhere but here.

His steps were slower, but he walked around admiring the floats, the wolves dressed up in their finest garments, and the pups running around excited for something new and positive. Keeping his own bitterness at bay, he ensured to affix a smile to his muzzle when he was scoped out or spoken to, and simply counted down the hours until his shift was done and he could return home, to where his bed would greet him and sleep would whisk him away from the pains of daily life. It also didn't help that he didn't really feel he had a purpose anymore considering his body couldn't keep up with the demands of what his profession entailed, and he was under pressure (from mostly himself) to figure out what he wanted to do with himself.

All in all, he was kinda depressed.

Trying to stay present, Sethos turned to make another round along his designated area when someone called him. It took a moment to figure out that the voice was quite angry, and it wasn't until he spotted who had called him, and saw the visible anger that radiated off of her, that he realized that he was in deep trouble.

However, he had no idea why.

As Calla stomped up to him and verbally went for his throat, Sethos backed up a step or two as his brows furrowed in confusion. Discreetly, he glanced around for any possible onlookers, but thankfully most were too absorbed in the parade to notice this woman beginning to berate a soldier.

"You have a lot of explaining to do. I don't want any excuses or lies!" she began, her voice spewing like hot acid at him. If he wasn't feeling like he was about to be accosted for whatever reason, he may have been impressed by the sheer power of the anger that pulsed from the typically calm medic.

"What are you talking about?" he questioned, trying to keep his voice as calm and cool as possible. It wouldn't do to have both of them yelling at each other, especially in such a public place. His eyes pleaded with her to chill out. It was difficult, however, to keep the edge from his tone as he didn't typically enjoy being targeted so randomly and without knowing why.

n this moment, Calla did not care about the other canines in the audience. She did not care about what was happening in the world around her - just that Sethos was not going to get away with such a heinous thing. Even if he would not face a judge over such filth, she wanted him to understand the gravity of what he had done. "How could you?" she growled softly to him. She knew it was unfair to make these claims against him without him having any idea what she was going on about. But she was so angry, she was worried the words would burn her tongue on the way out of her lips. How anyone could be so treacherous... how could she have ever wanted to associate with a male that conducted himself in such fashion. "War is one thing," she said, calming herself down now. "But putting a pregnant female behind bars. That is low - for any soldier, but I thought you... I thought you were different. Turns out, I was very wrong about you. In all my years of doing this job, I never thought any soldier could be so heartless, so..." The anger was building again. She closed her eyes so she could just get it all out.

"You should feel shame and guilt for the rest of your days for what you have done to a poor soul. To expect a female to live in those conditions, you could have at least given her some sort of kindness, offered her a better place to stay than the prison. Crimes or not, no pregnant female should EVER have to live in such conditions. She could have lost her litter, all of them or just even one of them. And that would forever be your cross to bear! I hope you know that this has been reported, as I can not stand back and watch this kind of behavior in the army be seen as anything but vile and ruthless." She was furious now. She wanted him to speak, to answer for what he had done. She hoped that he would never bother that poor girl again. She had half a mind to smack him here and now. This was his opportunity to be truthful, to show real emotions of regret - something!

Sethos stared at her dumbfoundedly, her words lacking the meaning that she was trying to drive into him. Confusion was obvious, with his furrowed brows and slightly agape mouth as he just... stared. She talked and talked, quoting shame and guilt and how dare he ever do this absolutely heinous act of imprisoning a pregnant woman, but he had no idea who that was. She gave no inkling for him to even devise who it could be, considering he had put a few wolves behind bars lately though none of them were anyone noteworthy.

At least, he didn't think so.

"...I hope you know this has been reported..." Sethos snapped to attention then, his jaws clicking shut quietly as his orange eyes blazed with indignation. She what? Anger licked at the edges of his heart as he took a step forward, interrupting her little crusade of goodness.

"I still have no idea what or who you're talking about Calla," he snapped, rage building like a well of fire within his throat. He struggled with keeping it in check as his spine flared with ghost pain. "It is my job to apprehend criminals, but if I knew they were pregnant, obviously I would treat them with a little more care." he focused on remaining as calm as possible, but it was difficult for him to remain even when she had reported him to his superiors already without him even knowing his crime. "Stupid of you to report anything when I didn't arrest anyone who was pregnant." he seethed, angry that his reputation could be tarnished because of some hearsay.

"So I ask again - what are you on about?" he looked pointedly at her, his muscles quivering with growing frustration.

ethos's face showed confusion and a complete lack of responsibility for his actions. How could he be this way? Did he really not know? Or was this all some sort of sick game? He was growing angry with her, which was to be expected as she was telling him off. This was the first time Calla had ever allowed herself to let loose in this manner. It was wild, and empowering to her. She was not about to start a tirade of angered yelling let everyone know what she felt about them, however. This was a one time thing. She had to be the voice for the girl who couldn't have one. She had to speak out for the other potential females that might also find themselves in such a predicament. "When someone is thrown into prison, it is the job of the medic to assess and care for those in the custody of the crown. Is it not?" She asked, knowing full well the demands of her position, which she was fine with. He knew it too. "Though not visibly pregnant, this prisoner was mistreated greatly at the time of her capture and upon being thrown in the cell." Calla stared him in the eyes, not backing down even when he stepped forward. In this type of situation, Calla was not regarded highly among the members of the army. She did not serve in the same manner. She knew that she could get in trouble for this display, but Onyxia and the unborn lives she carried were more important than some write up and reprimanding.

"Onyxia was pregnant."

Her voice was lower, no longer yelling at him. There was not much else she needed to say. The female was no longer in the jail cells - thank the Gods - and there would be very little evidence to support any claims she might try to offer to the crown. It was Calla's responsibility to make sure this was handled and let it be used as an example. This could not be a repeat of things to come. "You were the one who arrested her. As the medic who cared for her, I can confirm that she was indeed carrying pups. I don't know how many, as it was too early to tell... But she was."
