Since her failure to enlist in the Army, Sheik had enrolled the College of Eòlas. She wasn't sure what she would study once she got all the general classes finished but at least she was enjoying her time here so far. Everyone was nice and the atmosphere was calmer than she imagined the barracks would be. Her day didn't start with nerve wracking anxiety on whether or not she would do well in a spar or obstacle course. She just went about her day, learning as much as she could, and readying herself for class work and tests. It came to her easily and she felt this was where she was meant to be.

Not every Tiamat was a soldier these days so she didn't feel beholden to such status. It was relieving, in a way, but she just hoped mostly that she wasn't letting her parents down. Her father seemed very pleased to have her at the school with him, though she was not taking any classes with him and probably for good reason. She didn't want to be known in the school as his kid, she wanted to be known for her own things.

As she walked into the quiet library she thought about what she'd even become known for outside of her lineage. She also absently wondered if she'd run into Lyra while she was here or if her kin had decided to join the Army after her mother passed and no longer had the power to dictate where she spent her time. Sheik shook her head as she settled amongst some old books and got to work. She didn't need to be thinking of her family right now, she needed to study. It wouldn't be long before her next test. So she stuck her nose in a book and got to work.

eciding to become a professor at the school was an easy thing for Rhysand. Others would be captivated by his every word, their eyes upon him, and waiting to hear what other awe-inspiring things would fall from his lips. Literature was a fun subject, not like boring math or brain-splitting history. Having to remember things other than himself was far too boring. In literature, he could tell his pupils about whatever he wanted to do. He could spin anything into an interesting story with ease. He had done it for so long in his youth, ever since he had first faced the biggest foe anyone had ever faced in the summer of 1709. But that was a story he would save for the classroom so he could be oogled by the many different pairs of eyes. Rhysand decided hie needed a good book to start out the semester, something that was really riveting and suspenseful, but not as much as his own life.

As he entered the library, he looked around to see that barely any had lifted their noses from the pages of the script in front of them. He gave a nod to the librarian, and she, in turn, scolded him with her eyes in silence. She already knew his track record for following the rules of the library. He sauntered in as the door closed behind him. He walked by rows of books, until he finally found a section he enjoyed. Fiction. He found a female, looking over some rather dusty old books. She was a student, he knew that from how young she looked, and he smiled at her as he moved to her side and looked over the dusty old books as well. "Looking for a specific book? Or just browsing?" he asked, in non-library rule following volume. The librarian literally shushed him from afar, to which he smiled and winked. "Don't mind her.." he said and turned back to the books. "You know... you can't judge a book by its cover!"

It wasn't long before she was interrupted in her studies by another. His voice was near-booming as he spoke to her and she jerked upright in surprise, recognizing him quickly as one of her teachers. The librarian shushed him but he payed her no mind as his gaze settled on her. She felt her cheeks flush as she looked around, wondering if it was truly her he was talking to. They were the only ones in the vicinity, everyone else was further away and trying their hardest to ignore them. She swallowed and let her blue eyes shift back to him. "Oh, Mr. Deveroux, I'm just... uhm, studying," she said in a tone much quieter than him. Her tail curled against her leg and she slowly sat up, placing a paw on the book she was reading so that she could keep her place in it.

"What are you doing here?" she asked. Maybe he was getting some books for class, or perhaps he was just here on a private matter. She didn't know but she was curious enough to ask. She looked up at him with bright blue eyes and a soft smile on her lips. Her dark brown ears tilted back slightly, as she felt a little bashful to have his attention all on her at the moment.

ooking over the piles of books and then down to the student, he gave her a smile. "Well, it seems there are new pages to be turned, new spines to bind." He said with a smirk and a wink. It was a harmless joke, one he often made about books. He did not care about the hard glares he was receiving from the librarian. She could do so all he wanted, but he was not going to change his ways. Rules were meant to be broken, especially in such a place. If others didn't know how to read with distractions , they didn't need to read that badly. Some might think that was a silly thought he had, but he was not one to consider the thoughts of others. "I was hoping to find a novel that would activate all of the emotions. I want to be scared, happy, sad,... frisky..." he said under his breath. He knew of a series that covered all of these things, but to share such a thing with a student.... questionable.

He was expected to have the classes read rather famous authors that generations had. But he wanted something alive and riveting. Something to make them think. To make them feel. "What are you studying?" He asked with a mischievous grin. For all he knew, she could have really been studying. Finally a loud "shhhhh" rang in their direction, but Rhysand ignored the grouchy old lady.

When he told her what he was here for, she blushed beneath her tawny fur. She wasn't aware of any books like that so she was unable to direct him. "Oh, I see." she murmured. She thought he might leave her then to explore the library but no, he stuck around and he asked her what she was studying. She straightened up a little, looking up at him as she brushed a paw over the old pages of the book she'd been reading. "Oh, uhm, just a botany book. It's about plants and useful information on them," she explained. "Nothing too exciting." she added.

The smile on her lips was rather shy as she continued to look at him, then she peered at the librarian and back at her book. "I can... always study later if you need me for something?" she said, looking a little hopeful. She hadn't gotten far into her studies before growing a little bored. Seeing what he was up to seemed more exciting and it was probably best they got out of the library before the lady shushed herself into a coma.
