Magnus was found lonesome usually; why even as he did his early morning patrols, only silence would accompanied him. A solitary brute with a private life style. He didn't mind it really, when he spent his time enjoying quiet walks and long slumbers. Magnus was a self sufficient male & he knew his way around the land as a whole. He planned to join the army eventually. As most mainlanders did.
But he wanted to a make a life for himself first. His lineage was swiped from the face of earth after the war happened. No one survived but him. He was the one and only patriarch of House Syvet. He went on his days acting like that didn't eat at him. For as time went on, he grew more hardened. More detached. Who if not himself, could break the metallic heart he had?

for your pleasant dreams.
“You’re leaving already?”

Heaven help her. The words alone nearly sent her eyes rolling back into her head but she played it off with a laugh. “Yessss,” she replied, words slurred, “I must go.” She wasn’t sure how she always found herself in these situations. One moment she’s having a good time, there are drinks, she’s dancing, there’s a handsome stranger at her side, and then…well, by then things start to get blurry. But the handsome stranger leaves and in her place is a drunker stranger with beady little eyes, missing teeth and he smells like eggs. Yeesh.

But who was Yael to judge?

So the man talked and talked and as per usual, Yael listened. Next thing you know he wants to get something to eat, whateverrrr. She could go for something greasy! Then he wants to show her his “favorite spot”. Has a cool story to it, or so she’s told, so of course she has to go! And then as he’s in the middle of telling her the story, it was a really good one, too, and the next minute he’s trying to hold her paw. Not again, she cringed, pulling her hand away. But the man was persistent! After a few minutes, he did it again. And again.

Was a story worth whatever the fuck he obviously wanted? Eeeeh….

“But I haven’t gotten to the good part yet.” Eggs…milky eggs…eugh. She was going to be sick.

Yeah, no. She was sobering up too fast and needed to use the restroom. She was also still hungry… How was that possible? She had to get rid of him quick. “Yes, well, you see, um.” How could she put she thought he was gross as nice as possible? Was there a nice way? Did she even want to be nice? Men like him never took anything without insult, though, and she didn’t exactly feel like being called slurs and insults and possibly attacked. “You see, the thing is…My fiancé is coming to meet me any second now!”

Both Yael and the man found themselves slack jawed. What…of all the excuses to say?

“You’re..engaged?”

“Yes.”

“Since when?”

“Since a few months ago!”

“But you said you were new in town.”

Had she? She couldn’t remember. Too many cups. She REALLY needed to learn how to slow down. “Yes, well he and I just moved here!”

The man sat back on his haunches, yellow eyes narrowed. All she could do in response was blink innocently. Leave me alone, you old fart! Why are you putting up such a resistance? Just go! “Your fella lets you out drinking by yourself?”

What, like that’s not normal? It seemed perfectly fine to Yael, but then again, what did she know. She’s never been in a relationship! Even so, she nodded as though that was a silly question. “Of course! He trusts me!” Before he could reply, she gasped suddenly and stomped her feet. “Hey now! I’m starting to think you brought me out here for more than just a story!”

He sputtered in response before finally shaking his head. “Will you be quiet!? Listen, I don’t want any trouble. You said you liked stories, I was tellin’ you a story!”

Liar, liar! By all means she should have just walked away then and there. He was done and so was she. But from behind him she spotted a towering giant. One angel on her shoulder told her no, the man was minding his own business, there was no need to bother him, too. But the other reminded her that anyone that handsome deserved to be known. Making the poor egg man sweat was a plus, too. “Too late!” She huffed, stomping her paws again. “Here comes my fiancé now! Honey! Over here!”
