ADELINE VERLICE
It seemed like no matter what came from past her own lips it would make this new sister of hers tick in a way that made it difficult to be in the same room as her, drawing forth a frustrated breath that the other even in less dire talks would thrash a tongue or huff as if she had said something truly offensive. There was no getting on this woman’s good side it would seem, finding no even ground when she thought she might have for at least a few seconds. Even the woman’s laugh was unbecomingly cynical but not so different from her own and she was starting to be beaten at her own game as the other’s drunken stupor seemed to keep her unphased by anything and everything that came out of the younger one’s mouth. A sigh flared her nostrils as her invitation to come rest with her and potentially gossip further was ignored, finding it increasingly annoying that this woman seemed to want to do the exact opposite of what she wanted herself. A tail would flick as if in a shadow of the intruder’s own, both of them growing more and more frustrated with the other but that individuality was almost alluring in its own way. The fact she didn’t just wilt was lovely, glad to see at least this new family of hers had a spine that not everyone did, though it was that same lack of spine that would get them in trouble if they weren’t careful. It was a wonder no one at the barracks had detained her already for her excessive public intoxication, admittedly only getting away with it herself by paying a officer or two off. For being so drunk, she was amazed how well this girl could keep a sentence straight, let alone talk as smoothly as she was now. An ear would flick at that not so subtle threat that in the end wasn’t a threat at all because there was one that that was made clear, no harm would come to her. A smirk pulled at her lips, finding it humorous a simple name would keep that at bay but who was she to bite a gift horse in the ass? |
