SIF ASGAUT
Slowly she would come to the sound of delicate whimpering noises close to her ears, feeling as though she had grown a beard since she had fallen asleep, her lower face exceptionally warm. Opening her singular eye groggily and with clear panic. She would see a small field of golds and grays, only to realize it was her new little bundles wrapped up in her arms and around her face. They hadn’t been there when she had fallen asleep, left nestled against their father, making her blink a few times before the scent of milk and little beads of white decorated their chins would acquire her attention. Watching their chests move up and down as they breathed with little gerbil-like noises here and there. They had their first meal, thank goodness. They were still alive, and they seemed healthy, melting away many of the worries she had been carrying for weeks since she found out and accepted that she was indeed expecting pups. To see them both thriving hours after they were born, how it lightened the heart. Carefully, she would lift her head before delicately licking the milk off their muzzles, cleaning up any afterbirth she or Khepri might have missed while she was at it, before allowing her attention to finally truly see them. One, a baby forged by the sun’s robes, a little girl that without any doubt was a perfect mix of both her parents’ gold and false golds. She was a beautiful flaming potato but the one that caught her eye more was the little boy. Those cool silvers: looking of ash, steel and smoke just like her late father but in a stunning timber that reflected Khepri quite unmistakably. Taking in a breath, she nearly whimpered herself while she tilted her head, examining them both, though it would turn into a contemplating hum. She recalled she had tasked him with coming up with names for them both while she rested from labor earlier in the night, so long as they made it long enough to obtain them after these last trying few hours since their birth. She hoped he hadn’t gotten attached to any names in the meantime for the little boy and that her new wish would be granted without any turmoil. The thought of Tiamat names made another thought pop into her head, yawning a little from the fatigue of birth still weighing heavily on her body as if she never rested at all. @Khepri |
khepri all i wanna do is die for you He had been there the entire time, from start to finish, and it had been nerve wracking but... when all was said and done, it seemed the two pups Sif had birthed were both beautiful and healthy. There was no denying their parentage as he gazed upon them lovingly. While she slept they'd started to cry for milk but he'd not wanted to wake her so soon after she'd fallen asleep so he gently nudged them her way so they could nurse. The cries died down, replaced by soft suckling, until eventually they had their fill and their mother awoke. "Welcome back," he murmured gently as he pressed a kiss upon her cheek. As she came too, he watched her watch them in silence for a few moments and then suddenly she said something. His ears flicked at the single word: Haskell. It would seem she'd settled on a name for the boy herself, even though she'd asked him to think upon them both. Khepri did not mind at all, finding the name cute and fitting for their son. "It's perfect," he told her agreeably. His ears flicked as she spoke again and the smile grew wider on his tawny muzzle. "Sheik," he offered as he gazed down at the little girl that resembled him so much. He let the name settle for a moment or two before looking back up into Sif's amber eye. He hoped she liked it, despite it's uniqueness. He moved in closer to lay down behind Sif now as she began looking them over once again. He rested his muzzle against her head. "They're perfect. You did amazing," he whispered softly into her ear. At the mention of his sister, he nodded his head agreeably, though at this angle she probably couldn't see that. "I'd love for her to meet them and I'm sure she'd love to see them." he said. They could work out how and when that would all happen later though. He was thrilled by how well everything had gone and hoped that it was only uphill from here-- they were now newlywed with new pups and all this newness was getting to him. It was a shock to the system, in a way, but it was also more than welcome. "I love you," he murmured before she began to drift off to sleep again. He remained awake, simply watching over them all in awed silence. |
