illow was disappointed – she had attempted to befriend a wild skunk, but the creature had waddled away, back into the bushes again after she had addressed it. Many wolves would simply give up. After all, who would want to be friends with an animal that is not particularly known for being cuddly and sweet?

Willow did, of course! She was not put off by the skunk’s sudden departure. He had not sprayed her, so that was a start, right? The determined she-wolf followed behind (but not too closely) to see what it was that a skunk did during the day. Pretty quickly, though, the skunk caught on to its wolf-like shadow, and stopped on the trail to look at Willow again.

”Hey, it’s okay. My name is Willow. I could – I can help you, maybe? If you like little grubbies, well, I have a garden full of ‘em at home.” She smiled, hoping that the skunk understood her wolf-speak.
