And I'll Meet You There,
Beyond the Pines
With a flower clinging, gripping to her lips, she walked casually through the entrance with a soft smile to the guards at the door. How on earth could they just stand there without feeling any interest in joining in on the festivities? Was their security that important to them? Or, perhaps it was because those invited to this garden were meant to bring another, someone to share the experience with.

Looking around at the procured and trimmed labyrinth of flowers, Meala hummed quietly to herself, the weight of her summons causing her jaw to strain despite its weightlessness. It was somewhat ironic that she would find such a thing despite it all, a symbol of love. Perhaps it was just another stinging folly of the fair folk, a reminder of where she should have been instead of here. And yet, here she was anyway, her amber sights consuming all she could, wondering if Callen had been here before, wondering if this would have been something he would have come to out of interest or simply because she was interested in what mysteries she could find.

The chill of the evening crawled comfortably against her back as she took to studying the roots and stems of the flora, prodding at the soil with a curious paw before moving on. Callen's soldier quirks stuck with her more out of her refusal to be rid of them than a necessity. How she would tease him, how he seemed so embarrassed whenever she caught him. He had tried to explain it to her before, but words as casual and brief as that were slowly starting to fade from her mind. As he stood there, as she stood there, his mouth moved, but the words felt distant and inaudible. All that was left were memories as fractured and perfect as they were, lodged in her mind filled with smoke and ash, with screams and cries, but that was more than enough for her.

Taking a seat, Meala closed her eyes gently as they began to sting, breathing in the different smells of her surroundings, letting her mind settle in the silence for as long as time would allow, sinking further into the infinite possibilities that had never been given a chance to take root.
