Nephele was beginning to see the scoundrel who had tried to swindle her as a blessing in disguise. The man had led her to the kind gentleman who had shown her to a genuine merchant and helped her pick out beautiful gifts for her wife. She hoped his friend would appreciate the gift that he was taking back to them. He was a good man and she hoped his friend knew that. She couldn’t wait to tell Kylar all about her unusual day and give her the presents. It was her favourite part of the day when they snuggled up together and just chatted about how they had spent their days. Nephele normally didn’t have anything too fun to talk about, but she loved describing her more eccentric patients just as much as she loved hearing about Kylar’s students.

She felt a rush of relief when she was guided out of the crowd, feeling the flutter of fresh air around her once more instead of the suffocating heat of the gathered wolves. “I hope you visit too- Uh not because I hope you’ll get hurt- No I mean.. It’d be nice just to talk,” she stumbled over her words and couldn’t help, but laugh at her ridiculous invitation. She was certain he would understand that she didn’t wish for harm to come to him, but rather for his company. “Bye, sir. Take care of yourself,” she called after him, picking up her bundle and carrying it towards home.
