A Soon, the draw of sleep became too much for the new mother to overpower, though she felt quite content simply watching little Rowan, even if the pup was incapable of doing much more than nurse, sleep, and squeak. A wide yawn parted her jaws, eyelids feeling impossibly heavy. ”I’ll just – I’ll just take a little nap, that’s all,” she said aloud, to Gallagher but also to the newborn, even if she knew Rowan couldn’t hear her, but could only feel the vibrations of her voice as it traveled through her exhausted form. The sun was shining beyond the earthen den, for what promised to be a beautiful day. As Willow drifted to sleep, her blissful thoughts were filled with the future. She could hardly wait to introduce little Rowan Asthore to the big, wonderful world - the flowers and the meadows, dawn and dusk, each season. Willow drifted off to sleep swiftly, with a smile on her lips. [exit via sleeps] @Gallagher

GALLAGHER
It was decided, their child’s name. Gallagher couldn’t help the wide, gentle smile that touched their lips. This moment was… perfection. It was something that they had never honestly thought would be a part of their life, but now that it was happening… They were glad that it was. It was not only part of their life, but a major portion of it. The days of being a student were over — between the war and becoming a parent… Their time at the college had passed. Gallagher was okay with that fact though, knowing that eventually they might be able to return. But, for now, Willow and little Rowan were where they were needed. It felt… strange to be needed in such a capacity, but they felt thrilled. Scared, but thrilled at what was to come in the future. Things were… perfect, here in their little den. @Willow |
