A droplet of water rolled down his ear to his cheek before, gently, dropping onto hers. It traced a path that he was jealous of, drifting down the length of her neck to her shoulder. But he would never overstep her boundaries. What little she was comfortable with, be it kisses alone, would be enough. They would have to be.

Yet, rather than murmur her disagreement and swim away, she nodded. Her golden gaze held his, open and inviting. His heart thudded madly within his chest as he inched closer, both savoring the tension and taking the time to fully accept that she wanted this too. Rather than wait for him, however, Xandria found her voice and lifted herself up. I'll claim you. Of course, that was the Tiamat way, wasn't it?

"Naturally," Belfast breathed before drawing her into a kiss—one far deeper and more passionate than the one they had shared on the altar. Had he been a man, he would have tousled his fingers within her hair, savoring the way it bunched within his palms while her body folded against his own.

But he was not a man—and so he explored her in his own way, from dusk until dawn.
