lone, the healer girl walked in silence. She had tried so hard to befriend the lone skunk she had encountered out there in the wild, but it seemed impossible to win the little guy over. Again, she had left him alone. He didn’t seem to hate Willow, but trust was not an easy thing to build when no words could really be spoken. So she gave up, even though it was against her nature to do so, and went her own way, disappointed but resigned. Maybe she would find another critter down the road.
Hours had passed quietly and uneventfully when a familiar, small, black and white form reappeared. This time, it seemed, the skunk had sought her out, instead of the other way around. Could this mean that the skunk was finally ready to make friends with her? Willow breathed in, feeling nervous that the skunk would again disappear.
"Please stay?"
